Hi All,

I did my best to report on actual news (yey?). Although I did my best, I wasn’t able to convince Mr Flyer, Dachner’s attorney, to join the podcast conversation. I spoke with Michael Gougis, fellow journalist and motorcycle rider (racer & test rider) to talk the basics about lawsuits and similar cases. I then spoke with Mr Assanti to find out details behind his claims from the Roadracing World Article and the reality they face with this trial. Finally, I spoke with a third party attorney, Scott Adrian, to talk about leftover questions and discuss some of the things from the plaintiff’s claims.

I am not choosing a side, but I represent motorcycle enthusiasts when I say:  we shouldn’t be suing one another for track incidents that are bound to happen. It sucks, actually quite a bit, since Dachner had a medical injury. But it also sucks to have bad sportsmanship. I’m hoping this continues the conversation towards a future we can all enjoy to the capacity that we are able.

Should racers be separated from regular track days or grouped separately from hobby riders? Should we advocate for riders insurance on track? Should we advocate for tracks to recognize users by lap times to help prevent collisions like this from happening?
