  • Going the Distance: Sport Touring with Tom Roberts [S3 E26]

We're joined today by the man who taught our friend Aaron how to ride a motorcycle. He has many hours on his seat, traveling long distances for the thrill and the destination on his Suzuki Hayabusa. Tom tells stories from his travels, detailing his trip to Alaska, getting pulled over for passing 8 semi trucks, and more. He gives us some insight about doing an iron butt style ride and what you need to know on the open road.

We even veer off for a tangent time about motorcycle industry journalism and discuss opinions on ebikes.

He's a great storyteller, so grab a drink and listen up!

  • MMP Announcement: CVMA Racer Recap Retired [S3 E25]

Thank you all for listening to Monki Moto Pod over the years. I have decided (though I didn't want to) that I will not be making CVMA racer recap podcasts this season. It takes me much more time to create, coordinate, and usually edit last minute (a late night for me) for a timely release post race weekend. It is not going to be feasible for me moving forward, considering other things I have planned plus the time it takes to be respectful to the folks involved in making it happen.

I am glad to provide this to the community for the past 3 seasons but it is now time to step aside and let other media come through. I will of course be interviewing anyone interested in talking about their moto lives and welcome CVMA racers and participants. My content will be more primarily focused on individual storytelling by having longer conversations with racers.

Please excuse my tardiness today and thank you again for listening to Monki Moto Pod!

  • The Tale of Chicken Joe [S3 E24]

Our guest today is a contemporary showman, an online icon, a SoCal motorcycle scene staple, and an MX legend in the making. Much like Valentino Rossi or Joey Dunlop, his moniker isn't on his birth certificate. He earned his name in Travis Pastrana's BMX camp one summer and turned it into a personal brand. We're going to dive into the madness, the milestones, and the method behind Official Chicken Joe.

He gives us some tips on how to nab sponsorships, how to put yourself out there, and talks about his path to success as a showman in the motorcycle industry.

  • Supermoto Champion: Bronson Pearce [S3 E23]

Bronson Pearce @bronsonpearce32 joins me today to talk about SUPERMOTO!

Listen to his first episode: open.spotify.com/episode/7po4itbfiSiCeBgtGhkwOk

He is champion for both the 2026 North American Supermoto Shootout and the AMA National Supermoto. While his race year racing American Flat Track didn't quite go as planned, he was able to race and collect points in the AMA Nationals and North American Supermoto Shootout. Find out more about SMEC: www.racesmec.com/

We also talk about his Bakersfield race series, Supermoto Championship, and about what is upcoming for the 2027 season. Can't wait!

Thank you so much for the support and for listening to Monki Moto Pod!

It's the end of summer with Mark Jardiolin and the ghost from the back yard.

  • MMP Summer with Henry [S3 E20]

Would a person with less vision be able to ride a motorcycle better? Henry, who has Retinitis Pigmentosa, talks about how his condition changes the way he approaches motorcycles.

Retinitis Pigmentosa is an inherited genetic eye disorder that affects the light-sensitive cells in the retina causing them to break down slowly over time, leading to progressive vision loss.

We talk about riding with limited vision, electric cars, the beauty of friends and family who walk beside us, and several funny stories.

  • MMP Summer with Rich Hua [S3 E19]

Rich Hua joins us again for some talk-story, as the Hawaiians say.

We discuss balance, bike nights, our concepts of family, a village, and how we met. Rich plays a mini game with us at the end and there is an extended part of this episode coming Thursday.

Check in on Patreon because there is a video of him on the bike!

Thanks for listening. Monki Moto Pod Summer was short, but ending soon. We will be back to regular interviews with new guests soon.

  • Golden State Championship R4 Recap: Sonoma Summer [S3 E18]

The final 2026 round of the Golden State Championship took place at Sonoma Raceway, July 25 and 26th. This round was attended by racers from all over SoCal and CA neighboring states. Supermoto racing is hard to find on the west coast and this series aims to provide a professional supermoto experience to racers.

Tyler O'hara hosted this round and put on a great event. Unfortunately, he was not available to talk with me to promote the racer recap. Probably due to needing to show up and race the following weekend at Mid-Ohio.

I interview John and Ernie Lyles, Kensei Matsudaira, Ulises Weyrauch, Rylee, and Russ Plane to get the scoop on the weekend and find out more about their experience throughout the season.
