After going a whole episode with nary a name drop, Rev Seth rallies the crew for a quick pre-draft pod. Feat. Sean, Drew, Steven, and multiple Jamies.
Jamie and Sean return to provide some escapist fun away from the real world with everyone's favorite meaningless pod topic, the Dad Bod draft. Sean gives a little intro to the new auction draft format, takes several shots at Robert, and speculates if there's anyone who could fill THE commissioner's shoes. There's also a little Cowboys, Packers, & Aaron Rodgers off-season drama talk. So when's the draft?
Caleb returns as this week's favorite co-host and brings his corner to the pod. Backed with data, he brings tidings of great randomness and volatility. We notice season success seems to correlate with podcast participation. Zach starts Keenan Allen muahahaha.
Trey emerges from the depths of the GroupMe abyss to discuss his draft night nip-slip, new puppy, and refusing to change his team name.
After waiting what felt like two years for a new pod, Seth takes matters into his own hands and voice and returns to save the pod for a second time this season. Jamie finds himself without his old co-host or his new co-host. Some light slander occurs. I don't even remember what we talked about. This episode is dedicated to all the announced pregnancies, baby boy Fisher, and Robert's birthday.
Robert comes in hot after a sermon to be on the pod. We catch up on what life looks like for Robert, the injury wreckage of bloody Sunday, and league culture. We appeal multiple times for Cody to come on the pod. After Caleb declares himself the new co-host the old co-host makes an appearance. Oh yeah, and we talk about that trade at the end.
Caleb joins the pod to breakdown the first week of games and drop some surprising corner findings. A long-lost co-host makes an appearance...sort of. Count it. We evaluate rivalry potential and which teams are ascending into week 2 and which teams are in trouble (cough Seth cough cough Seth). This episode is dedicated to the ghost of Gostkowski. Go fall in a well.
In the stunning conclusion of our draft analysis trilogy, we manage to breakdown our last two teams (Seth & Travis). After determining their teams have no chance at a title, the podcast continues as our rag tag group of analysts fearlessly navigates from 1:30-2:30 AM EST showing no signs of slowing down and dreaming big about the combine, writing a book, and filming a documentary. You can barely even tell it's a group of middle-aged men desperate for the season to start. Hardly noticeable. Completely Imperceptible. Thank God for the Chiefs & Texans. Happy opening day!
In the second installment of our post draft trilogy, Zach reorients us with a silky smooth intro. We get through seven more teams, including Sumner's mysterious, bombshell draft. Seth sings edelweiss. Caleb's kids wake up and bring the background noise. One more sleep until football. Enjoy.
Optimism is in the air, hope springs eternal, and everyone is tied for first. Seth, Caleb, Zach and Sean join the pod to break down the draft but we get caught up trash talking Drew and only make it through 3 teams. Looks like we have a trilogy on our hands. This episode is dedicated to Steven, Steven's App, and Zach's nameless daughter - Happy Birthday!
