The Green Bay Packers quarterback, Aaron Rodgers, has come out with very strong opinions on Christianity, insulting many, including his own family. In this episode I address those opinions with a counterargument, highlighting the hypocrisy and ignorance in his statements.

To be clear, I've actually be a long-time fan of Aaron Rodgers, the football player, but it's important to distinguish between the athlete and his persona in the public sphere and what he is representing, especially when he backhandedly insults Christians when he is interviewed by his girlfriend, Danica Patrick, on her podcast, Pretty Intense.

Everyone gets an invitation to the dark side, but not everyone accepts it. Well, I not only accepted it, but I became an exclusive member. I’m not saying it’s only there for the rich, but it’s definitely more manageable to navigate through secretly when you’re well off and you have the means.  So the next thing that happened is that I started using my resources and time to pursue this new vice that I had, and I thought, hey, I deserve this. I work hard and this is just a release… and it’s not really hurting anyone. I’m not going to leave my wife… I’m just going to get a taste of this and I can go back home and no one’s going to know any better. Besides, this is discrete and it’s mutual, and so on. Yeah… this was the road I was on. Invitation accepted.
