The Autism in Black Podcast is hosted by Maria Davis-Pierre, LMHC, and focuses on all things autism and the black parent experience. Our goal is to educate, support, and empower black parents to advocate not only for their children but for themselves as well.
Today we are joined by Maurice Rush - a father, host, and a communist activist. He has made a career of helping people in the social services field. He currently hosts "The My Brother My Brother Show" which is a web-based series dedicated to uplifting, encouraging, and enriching black men by shining a light on various emotional and mental struggles.
In this episode, Maurice Rush talked to us about parenting from a black dad's perspective. He discussed his personal experience of parenting and co-parenting a child with a disability. Additionally, we talked about DADvocating (what it is and why more people should know about this) and so much more. We had a candid and sincere conversation and every word he said in this episode is truly uplifting and amazing.
