We have a special guest for a special super sized episode 100!
How did Michael "Mr. Sunshine" Janzen get the honor of being our guest on episode 100?
Well, he asked. It was really that simple.
Anyway, we had so much fun that he will be guesting for quite a few episodes in a row!
Michael is the former lead singer of Javelin and currently quite the solar guru with over 8000 solar sales. He owns Mr. Sunshine Solar and is all about educating the public on solar. There is a ton of misinformation out there that is, sadly, spread by well-meaning real estate agents, no-it-alls and miscreants thinking that today's solar is your parents solar.
Like anything, technology improves.
We will go deep into that on upcoming episodes.
But, first, we need to get to know Mr Sunshine for a few episodes.
Since we spoke for close to 3 hours(!!!), I have done you all the service of breaking these down into bite size chunks.
Sit back and enjoy. I hope you all enjoy episode 100 of Dad's Rules as much as I enjoyed making it.

In episode 99, we have a solo episode.
Today, we will continue talking about my favorite topic of late.
Not done yet.
I can remember the ridicule I got when I started real estate. Heck, I got it when I wrote a book, started a podcast and opened a swag shop.
No one starts at the end. No one starts with millions or billions in the bank and hundreds or thousands of employees.
Everyone starts from zero.
As you grow yourself or a business, expect the naysayers.
Just smile at them. Let them know you're not done yet.
We also talk about how you need to put the right people in your corner while you are on your journey.

The 98th episode of Dad's Rules is a solo episode.
We kick off the show talking about multi-tasking and how it can't actually be done with any level of effectiveness.
Next, we talk about getting attention. Social media posting can be to get the attention of your ideal client, a potential sponsor or product you want to promote just to name a few.
I also bring up some points about why I believe some businesses fail.
Do people know your business exist?

Solo Episode!
Today, there is no guest unless you count my dog, Dexter.
We are going to talk about where you are at in life and where you are going.
What is your end goal? Understand that we have to go through the learning lessons, the failures and the setbacks. Eventually, if you are paying attention to what works and what isn't working, you will have success.
But, that isn't day one. You will be surrounded by naysayers and people trying to hold you back when you start. Some are doing this out of love and concern. They may mean you no harm. Others, they are just jerks who wish nothing but failure on you.
It is up to you to shut the noise out and persevere through.

Episode 96 is a solo podcast.
Why a solo podcast? A couple reasons. I have some things on my heart that I honestly didn't need a guest to be involved. I also may have procrastinated, not booking studio time as well as reaching out with enough notice to some guest.
I spend the front of the episode going into some behind the scenes info about the podcast and what it was like in the early days up until now. For those looking to start a podcast, this will give you an idea of what I did wrong, what I learned and what I am doing now.
This leads into a banger of a talk about how getting things done is better than perfect.
Who are you trying to be? Why not be yourself and put the content out. Understand that those you admire were not always the polished machine they come across as now.

On Episode 95, I am going to share a recent podcast that I did with Daquota Avila on his show, Your Media Guy.
We discuss everything social and why it is important to any business moving forward.
You have to promote yourself and social media is the least expensive way to get the word out about you, your business and whatever you are passionate about.
