Ah, right! One more note about shaos zmaniyos. That is exactly the machlokes between the Gra and the Magen Avraham! You know how like the Magen Avraham's time for sof zman kerias shma is earlier than the Gra's? That's because the Magen Avraham calculates the 12 hours from dawn (alos hashachar) until nightfal (3 stars—tzeis) and the Gra calculates from sunrise (netz) until sunset (shkia).
