MSgt. (RES) Zechariah Pesach Haber (HY”D) fell in Gaza on January 16, 2024. He was 32 years old, the beloved and devoted husband of Talia Friedman Haber, and the father of Sedayel (5), Shevet (3) and Nachliel (almost 1). He was also the oldest son (he had three younger brothers) of Aharon and Miriam Haber, and the grandson of Debi (Wildman) and Meir Factor. He was a brilliant man, the true embodiment of Torah U’Madah, Torah and Science. Aside from always taking out time to learn Torah, (he wrote a Talmudic Encyclopedia that will soon be published) he was pursuing a Doctorate in plant sciences at Tel Aviv University, developing a strain of wheat that would be able to grow in desert conditions. For this groundbreaking and game-changing research, Tel Aviv University plans on awarding him a posthumous Doctorate. He was a true mensch, and an exemplary soldier.
