Tom Lee at it Again

Any news coming from Fund Strat isn’t news. It’s PR. What Tom Lee does is reverse FUD. He wants the market to think institutional investors believe Bitcoin has bottomed. But that’s not the case. Digging into the Coinfeed archives, you’ll find Tom Lee put out a survey that reported 82% of institutional investors believed Bitcoin had bottomed in April. If that number is only 54% now in October, that is a bearish signal my friend. The fact that Tom Lee didn’t report that finding should tell you all you need to know about Tom Lee.

Yale’s endowment fund is back in the news after reportedly investing money into an additional crypto-related fund in addition to investments made earlier this year with A16z Crypto.

Pantera down

Pantera’s Digital Asset Fund is down by over 40% since inception. Although the news is bearish, those feeling salty about their own losses feel rather good about this one.

Bitfinex at HSBC

Follow up from our headline last week regarding Noble Bank’s liquidation, it appears Bitfinex is now banked at HSBC. A large bank taking on a client such as Bitfinex is a great signal for ecosystem growth.

Robinhood’s signal

Robinhood recently expanded its crypto offering to three additional markets: Rhode Island, Tennessee, and Arkansas. While this news is boring and only interesting to those in three states, it’s a nice signal that companies are investing real dollars into the crypto asset investment space.
