The FEC or Federal Elections Commission is considering a request that would allow people to donate processing power to mine cryptocurrencies. That’s kind of the cool thing about crypto. You would think that big money, bankers, and politicians would be against disrupting the status quo. What we tend to forget however, is that those same organizations are usually motivated by short term profits even if it leads to their eventual demise.

Bitmex Gets Real on Compliance

Bitmex has a new COO Angelina Kwan who was the previous head of compliance at a major Hong Kong exchange. That’s a pretty good sign that Bitmex aims to do the right things. Or at minimum know how to look like they’re doing the right things.

McAfee Named in Lawsuit

Crypto’s favorite super villain John McAfee has been linked to a pump and dump scheme involving MGT Capital Investments. McAfee hasn’t been named in SEC’s complaint but he is named as a defendant in a class action lawsuit filed by former MGT shareholders. Just tell them you like beer Bub and you should be good to go.
