Bitcoin flirting around $6300 all weekend. However sometime early this morning it seems there may have been panic to get out of USD Tether and into BTC with a rise to $7700 on Bitfinex and currently trading at a premium by a few hundred dollars.

Movers and Shakers

Winners: Pundi X is up by a modest 4% likely tempered by a bearish Bitcoin sentiment. Last week Zac Cheah, CEO of Pundi X announced that his firm has made the first ever blockchain based phone call. Implications of this feat is we can have decentralized phone calls without relying on centralized carriers. Interesting.

Losers: And of course what goes up, must come down with 0x falling by 5% after its Coinbase bump.

Viewers would be wise to take note that the Tether and TrueUSD gap has now increased to five cents. Things that make you go hmm.

NASDAQ Crypto

NASDAQ is launching a security token platform. It seems major exchanges are recognizing that distributed ledger technologies would reduce IPO costs and if they didn’t jump in they would be end up like Kodak or Blockbuster Videos.

Litecoin on Gemini

Litecoin has been listed on Gemini, the US exchange primarily marketed towards institutional investors founded by the Winklevoss twins.

Coinbase nixes Index fund

Coinbase dropped its institutional investor catered index fund after lack of interest since launch four months ago. Attention will be refocused towards its consumer grade products such as Coinbase Bundles.

A16Z stable coin

A16z entered the stable coin game buying up 6% of MakerDAO’s MKR supply for $15 million dollars. This is the second a16z capital injection after the first in December 2017 for $12 million dollars in a seed round.

Not Really News News But Let's Talk About It

Dr. Doom vs Vitalik Buterin

Last week we reported that Nouriel Roubini testified that crypto was the mother of all scams. Thanks to @infominer for posting a link to a recording of the debate on Coinfeed. Love our Coinfeed members. Over the weekend, the crypto verse heated up with rebuttals against Roubini’s statement prompting many to ask Roubini and Vitalik to debate. While the debate between the two could be interesting, it’s a horrible matchup. Roubini is a genius level economist and business school professor. Vitalik is a genius level computer scientist. I doubt Roubini is going to engage in computer science debates and unfortunately everyone thinks they're an economist. A debate between Nouriel Roubini and Professor Lawrence White or even Arthur Hayes would be much more engaging. One thing I will say is keep an open mind on Roubini. He's not entirely wrong and ignoring him will do you a disservice. Criticism is good.
