Ezekiel sees the restoration of the old temple and the old order of worship in his vision indicating the children of Israel were going to be restored back to the land of Israel and the temple rebuilt. However, this temple was only still a foreshadowing of what was still to come, that people will oneday be the very temples of God made not with human hands but made possible by the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ. Thank you Jesus!

The vision of the valley of dry bones has so much lessons for us. The bones represented the pathetic, irredeemable condition the nation of Israel was in as they were scattered all over the world in exile, yet, the LORD brought about a mighty revival by bringing them back. I don't know what dry bones represent in your own life, but with God, no situation can ever be called irredeemable, He will do a mighty work in you today in the mighty name of Jesus.

We will paying attention to two things as we read today; the role of the covenant in guaranteeing Israel's and our safety, and the fact God says he will be giving his people a new heart, one that is not stubborn but a heart that wants to seek after and follow God. Our covenant with God in Christ guarantees our liberty from sin and the tyrannical oppression of the devil. Halleluyah!! To keep this covenant, and for as many that so desires to, God gives a heart that is tender, loving, and wants to please God. Thank you for the covenant that I have with you LORD in Christ Jesus.

A watchman stands guard on the behalf of other watching for approaching dangers and sounding off clear warnings. A watchman speaks the truth, even to power. They use the truth to confront falsehoods that might sneak in unwittingly. Watchmen love the people they have been called to watch over. YOU ARE A WATCHMAN, over a family, a community, country, sphere of influence, job, etc.

"Pride goes before destruction and a haughty heart before a fall" says the book of Proverbs. As you listen to today's devotional, please realize that God had no problem Tyre and their king or prince's riches and success, no, the fact that they succeeded through wisdom, understanding and industry was commendable. The problem started when pride entered their hearts. So you ask, can I have all they had and not fall into pride? The answer is yes. You will have to resolve early that money and riches will never take the place of God in your life.

Human nature thinks it can only succeed when others fail. It sees others as competition so that when calamity or downfall befalls them, it secretly rejoices. In today's reading, the LORD punished the nations of; Ammon, Moab, Edom, Philistia, and Tyre because they rejoiced and celebrated at the fall of Jerusalem. Today's lesson is; there is enough room at the top for all of us to succeed. You don't need the failure of others to shine.

God again confronts Israel's and Judah's idolatry. However this time, with the background information that it all started in Egypt. They started by worshipping the gods in Egypt and were never able to give them up, instead, they added other idols and gods. Idolatry for them began during their time of slavery, bondage and suffering. Moses never stood a chance of getting them to the promise land. The lesson here today is to not allow what you are presently suffering or going through install an idol in your life.

Judgment and destruction was here for Jerusalem. They were being judged not just for the idolatry in the land, but also because of the way they were treating one another in taking advantage of the defenseless; the orphaned, widows, the poor, foreigners, etc. The lesson here is, you can't claim to love God and then go on to treat those created in his image with contempt and hate. You can't love God and hate people. Love your neighbour as yourself.

Individuals are responsible for their own sins; not their father or mother, not even the society, that's the focus of our read in today's devotional. The nation of Judah was suffering, war was imminent but rather than seek for solutions and understand why, they tried to blame the generations who came before them. That way, they were not responsible and God was being unjust trying to punish them for it. However, the LORD says, each individual, each person, will pay for their own actions; whether for good or bad.

In today's reading, the LORD makes a link between idolatry and promiscuity. Though speaking metaphorically, the message could not be clearer; claiming to worship GOD and then worship idols at the same time is prostitution. You will have to choose, I will have to choose. Jesus puts it this way; "you cannot worship GOD and mammon", now you know why.
