Welcome back! This is a quick segment I wanted to do covering how Trump has changed the political landscape and what we might be able to expect going down the road into the mid-terms. Nothing too crazy, just my take on a few common themes I'm seeing and hearing when I talk to people. Enjoy!
Conversations about Trump are still just as common as they were in the height of his presidency. I’ve said this before - Trump is one of those people that I just can’t see myself having a beer with but I certainly liked most of his policy, especially the way he handled himself with other world leaders.
I had a conversation with a stranger the other day about this very thing and it became increasingly apparent that Trump lovers are not lost. People that believe the election was stolen haven’t changed their opinion. Unlike other presidents and leaders from our past, the reasons are different. Trump was able to cultivate a cult like following for his presidency and it isn’t something new to him. It’s just a different industry he applied himself to. I say industry on purpose because at this point our Government is an industry in its own right…and it shouldn’t be. Trump is made for politics like Klaus Schwab is made for The World Economic Forum.
It started out when he was young. Already a business man and already making a name for himself. Whether he created a business that completely bombed or an exclusive hotel, his name was out there…and in this country, that’s really what counts…especially for winning an election. Once he had the fame (good and bad) he was off to the races. He isn’t necessarily new to politics, but he hadn’t really engrained himself in it like a budding campaign manager would. I mean if I were as successfully renowned as Trump I’m not sure I would either. Unless I needed something to change in Government policy. Even then it’s hired hands and companies that lobby on your behalf. I can’t say I know Trump did that type of cheat code for sure, but if he didn’t I’m sure his dad did. Keep in mind that’s a legal method of getting your way in America.
Don’t hate the player, hate the game.
Trump was a name you heard in rap songs. A name you heard in real estate mogul conversations. A name prevalent in entrepreneur magazines and more recently podcasts. He was interviews time and time again about his bankruptcy woes only to be thrown to the wolves whenever politicians were involved. Politicians have a history with this because every relationship has strings. Politicians just pull these strings for the appropriate outcome. The more strings you have, the better your chances of succeeding and getting the outcome you desired. When it came to trump, these strings were clearly from D.C to the mainstream media. So clearly - that they showed up to the public for the first time since…well since cigarette ads told you they were good for you.
We don't always talk about products on our show because that isn't the point for us, but when I love something, I talk about it. EveryPlate is just another meal delivery service but it's the most affordable one and it's actually super good quality. You cook it yourself, but the portioned are accurate. There have always been some similarities between a cult leader and a regular leader. The difference only lies in what they promise. They both have charisma for the job and for the most part know how to lead a
