  • Extra: Wisconsin Finally Showed What It Can Be. Now Comes Penn State
Was this the Wisconsin football team we've been waiting to see?
Jim Rutledge and Riley Jauch react to the Badgers' 54-10 win over Eastern Michigan, a game that finally gave Wisconsin fans a glimpse of what this team can be.
After a shaky opening quarter, Wisconsin exploded offensively and dominated the rest of the game. Colton Joseph bounced back from an early interception to throw for a huge afternoon, while Tyrell Henry set a Wisconsin single-game record with 14 receptions for 160 yards.
The defense also turned the game around with a flurry of takeaways, including interceptions from Mason Posa and Matt Jung and a fumble recovery touchdown from Cooper Catalano. For the first time this season, Jim and Riley saw the version of the Badgers they've been talking about all offseason.
But does a 54-10 win over Eastern Michigan prove Wisconsin is ready for No. 13 Penn State? Not necessarily. The guys discuss what the victory actually tells us about the Badgers — and why the next game will be the real test.
    In this Jump Around Extra:
🦡 What Wisconsin finally showed against Eastern Michigan
    💥 Colton Joseph's massive bounce-back performance

  • Packers Survive, O-Line Is Decimated & Defense Gives Green Bay Real Hope
On The Homer Hour, Steve “Homer” True and Bryan Bulaga celebrate the most important fact from Sunday: the Packers won the game. But once they move beyond the final score, Bulaga admits Green Bay’s 20-17 overtime escape against the Jets was beyond ugly. The offense showed almost no life for much of the afternoon, while the defense and special teams repeatedly kept the Packers alive.
Jason Wilde joins Homer and Bulaga to sort through an offensive line that was nearly wiped out by injuries. With Zach Tom potentially facing a lengthy absence, Aaron Banks battling another injury and Donovan Jennings also going down, Green Bay finally turned to Jagger Burton. Wilde and Bulaga believe the likely group moving forward is Jordan Morgan, Burton, Sean Rhyan, Jacob Monk and Anthony Belton, with very little proven depth remaining behind them.
There are real reasons for optimism elsewhere. Bulaga names Lukas Van Ness as one of his biggest standouts after another strong performance, while Wilde points to Skyy Moore revitalizing a return game that had been nonexistent. The guys also praise Jonathan Gannon and a defense that has played well in consecutive weeks without Micah Parsons. If that defense and special teams can continue carrying their weight, the offense may not need to be spectacular while Green Bay pieces its line back together.

  • 4P: Potholes, Penalties and Phone Anxiety

This hour covers everything from Milwaukee's streets to October baseball. WTMJ's Adam Roberts breaks down Mayor Cavalier Johnson's proposed investment in road repairs as the city grapples with a record number of pothole complaints and growing repair costs. Sportswriter Jason Wilde joins the show to discuss the Packers' hard-fought win over the Jets, the breakout performance of Lucas Van Ness, injury concerns, and the challenge of cleaning up costly penalties before a quick turnaround against Atlanta. Later, Brewers broadcaster Lane Grindle reflects on Milwaukee's historic season, the club's pursuit of 100 wins, and why baseball fans around the country are rooting for the Brewers to win their first World Series. The hour concludes with a conversation about "telephobia," the growing reluctance among many Gen Z workers to answer phone calls, and what that trend could mean for communication, workplace culture, and personal relationships.

  • 2PM: Packers Survive the Jets, LaFleur Loses Kyle & Can a Win Still Feel This Bad?
It’s technically a Victory Monday on Kyle & Brust, but nobody seems ready for a parade. The Packers escape New York with a 20-17 overtime win, snapping their six-game losing streak despite finishing with fewer than 200 yards of offense, piling up penalties and needing the Jets to stumble late. Kyle calls it the most disappointed he’s ever been after a Packers victory and says Green Bay looks nothing like the championship contender he expected entering the season.
The biggest fallout is Kyle finally saying he has lost all faith in Matt LaFleur. He and Ben question the offense’s lack of discipline, LaFleur’s play calling and another sequence where Green Bay followed a huge Skyy Moore return by running the ball twice and killing its momentum. Meanwhile, Tucker Kraft delivers a similar warning from inside the locker room, saying the Packers can’t allow a win to mask their problems.
Plus, the offensive-line situation somehow gets even stranger. Kyle reacts to LaFleur revealing the Packers briefly considered putting Tucker Kraft at tackle when injuries left them with only four available offensive linemen, and argues putting one of the offense’s most valuable weapons in that position while he’s returning from an ACL injury would have been an enormous risk.
