  • 4P: Potholes, Penalties and Phone Anxiety

This hour covers everything from Milwaukee's streets to October baseball. WTMJ's Adam Roberts breaks down Mayor Cavalier Johnson's proposed investment in road repairs as the city grapples with a record number of pothole complaints and growing repair costs. Sportswriter Jason Wilde joins the show to discuss the Packers' hard-fought win over the Jets, the breakout performance of Lucas Van Ness, injury concerns, and the challenge of cleaning up costly penalties before a quick turnaround against Atlanta. Later, Brewers broadcaster Lane Grindle reflects on Milwaukee's historic season, the club's pursuit of 100 wins, and why baseball fans around the country are rooting for the Brewers to win their first World Series. The hour concludes with a conversation about "telephobia," the growing reluctance among many Gen Z workers to answer phone calls, and what that trend could mean for communication, workplace culture, and personal relationships.

  • 2PM: Packers Survive the Jets, LaFleur Loses Kyle & Can a Win Still Feel This Bad?
It’s technically a Victory Monday on Kyle & Brust, but nobody seems ready for a parade. The Packers escape New York with a 20-17 overtime win, snapping their six-game losing streak despite finishing with fewer than 200 yards of offense, piling up penalties and needing the Jets to stumble late. Kyle calls it the most disappointed he’s ever been after a Packers victory and says Green Bay looks nothing like the championship contender he expected entering the season.
The biggest fallout is Kyle finally saying he has lost all faith in Matt LaFleur. He and Ben question the offense’s lack of discipline, LaFleur’s play calling and another sequence where Green Bay followed a huge Skyy Moore return by running the ball twice and killing its momentum. Meanwhile, Tucker Kraft delivers a similar warning from inside the locker room, saying the Packers can’t allow a win to mask their problems.
Plus, the offensive-line situation somehow gets even stranger. Kyle reacts to LaFleur revealing the Packers briefly considered putting Tucker Kraft at tackle when injuries left them with only four available offensive linemen, and argues putting one of the offense’s most valuable weapons in that position while he’s returning from an ACL injury would have been an enormous risk.

  • Call Me Maybe? Gen Z and the Fear of the Phone

Why does a phone call make so many young people anxious? Brenda Siri, president and CEO of Corporate Connections, joins the show to discuss the growing phenomenon of "telephobia" among Gen Z and younger workers. The conversation explores why text messages have replaced many real-time conversations, how smartphone culture may be reshaping communication habits, and whether discomfort with phone calls is beginning to impact the workplace. Siri also examines the role parents and employers play in developing communication skills, the potential mental health implications of avoiding live conversations, and what can be done to help younger generations become more comfortable with unscripted, person-to-person interactions.

  • LaFleur Becomes the Story, Packers O-Line Is Falling Apart & Defense Finds Its Edge
The 3PM hour of Kyle & Brust checks the receipts from Friday’s biggest Packers-Jets questions, and Kyle’s prediction immediately comes back to haunt him. He thought a Packers win would make Jordan Love Monday’s headline, but instead Matt LaFleur dominates the conversation after another frustrating offensive performance. Kyle explains why he’s lost faith in LaFleur and believes Green Bay’s offense has become the weakness of a roster built to contend.
The offensive line isn’t helping. Injuries continue to pile up, and Jason Wilde joins the show to say the Packers are in “dire straits” up front. Wilde questions both the development and construction of the line, wonders why Green Bay has been hesitant to play Jagger Burton and points out another alarming problem: 26 penalties through two games, the most by the Packers through two games since penalty tracking began 85 years ago.
There are reasons for optimism, though. Skyy Moore has transformed the return game, Lukas Van Ness finally delivered the type of performance Green Bay envisioned when it picked up his fifth-year option, and Micah Parsons is already providing leadership from the sideline. If LVN keeps producing and Parsons eventually returns to the field, the Packers could have something dangerous brewing on defense.

The crew also discusses High Rocks competitors, brutal NFL injuries, the playoff picture, and the Bears’ defensive standouts.

  • 4PM: Can Packers Fans Survive This Season? LaFleur’s Identity Crisis & Bulaga Diagnoses the O-Line
The 4PM hour of Kyle & Brust asks whether Packers fans are emotionally prepared for what could be a very long season. Kyle admits the overtime win over the Jets has him feeling better, but believes every game could become a four-quarter grind. That leads back to Matt LaFleur, as Kyle questions why the offense lacks the clear identity and energy Green Bay appears to have on defense and special teams.
The K&B fam brings some historical perspective, comparing today’s frustrations to the Packers teams of the 1970s and ’80s. Kyle admits he’s been spoiled by three decades of winning football, but argues that makes watching a talented roster underachieve even more frustrating. One longtime fan who lived through those lean years agrees there’s a major difference now: this Packers team has talent and expectations.
Then Bryan Bulaga joins the show to diagnose an offensive line decimated by injuries. Bulaga saw some improvement against the Jets, but says blown assignments remain and Green Bay still has a long way to go. He also explains why Caleb Johnson deserves more carries, why stupid personal fouls may require benching players and why he would have preferred Matt LaFleur attack the Jets after Skyy Moore’s huge return instead of going conservative with run-run-pass.
