The guys then shift to the PGA Tour playoffs, debating whether the FedEx Cup has really worked, why match play could help, and how the Tour can make its season matter more while still living in the shadow of the majors. Rory McIlroy, Scottie Scheffler, Jackson Koivun, Michael Brennan and the future of the Tour’s schedule all come up as they look ahead to what playoff golf could become. The hour closes with Gabe and Stephen comparing their overloaded golf polo collections before Gabe previews a Michigan golf trip and explains why every buddies’ trip needs someone willing to organize the games.

Jason Wilde joins Homer to react to Matt LaFleur saying Jordan Love is the best quarterback he has been around at protections and adjustments. Wilde says the comment may have been a case of LaFleur getting too hyperbolic, but he also notes that Stacey Dales did exactly what a reporter should do by immediately following up with the Aaron Rodgers comparison. Wilde and Homer role-play how LaFleur could have clarified the answer by praising Love’s communication while still acknowledging Rodgers’ brilliance at the line of scrimmage. The conversation expands into what Love still needs to show, with Wilde saying the next step is delivering more games where he elevates the Packers when everything around him is not working. Wilde also stresses that Green Bay’s offensive line has to be better, because even great pre-snap adjustments do not matter if the protection breaks down.

Callers weigh in with frustration about LaFleur, while Homer keeps returning to the idea that the coach may have felt a need to publicly pump up Love. Jason Wilde joins and says the comment may have been hyperbolic, then explains how LaFleur could have clarified it without doubling down on the Rodgers comparison. Mark Tauscher joins after his vacation and says he is legitimately concerned about the Packers offensive line, especially with players moving around, injuries lingering, and the team still trying to identify its best five. Tausch says the cornerback competition feels different because a young player like Brandon Cissé can grow into the job, but the offensive line uncertainty is harder to stomach for a team with big goals. He also pushes back on the Packers wide receiver room being ranked 26th, while saying the group still has to prove it and identifying Christian Watson as the receiver with the highest ceiling. The hour closes with another round of Packers national disrespect after NFL.com ranks Green Bay 13th in its power rankings, leading Ben and Kyle to question how teams like the Cowboys and Bengals landed ahead of the Packers.

Ben and Kyle turn to the Brewers’ frustrating late-night loss in San Diego. Logan Henderson delivered another quality start and Christian Yelich homered from the seven spot, but the guys worry that Milwaukee’s bats still are not producing enough consistent runs. Kyle says the Brewers’ pitching looks playoff-ready, but the offense remains the biggest concern after the trade deadline passed without adding a true impact bat. The conversation shifts to the Packers being one-point favorites in Week 1 against Minnesota, with both guys saying the offensive line is still the issue most likely to hold Green Bay back.
