How do you know you're dealing with this dilemma? - 𝗯𝗲𝗰𝗮𝘂𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗼𝗳 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗵𝗮𝗽𝗽𝗲𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴...
↳ You have high expectations for this team member before you've taken time to assess their overall capability over a sustained period of time.
↳ You magnify this team member's simple actions, ideas and activities as evidence of their potential without focusing on the outcomes.
↳ You start to sacrifice consistency for spikes in this team member's performance, because the latter is evidence of their potential.
↳ You lead and manage this team member differently to their peers, and convince yourself you are coaching a future high performer.
↳ You start to get frustrated quickly when this team member doesn't align to your expectations of them, then dismiss this as a 'learning curve'.
