Today's verse is Zechariah 1:8

"Thus declares the Lord of hosts: ‘Return to me,’ says the Lord of hosts, ‘and I will return to you,’ says the Lord of hosts.”– NKJV

The Lord Almighty speaks to you through his word, is speaking to you right now through his word.

Despite our sin, despite our flaws, God is calling us to return back to him.

Just like we are admonished in the book of James to "draw near to God and He will draw near to you..."

In other words, return, turn around, don't go far anymore, make a move, because I am willing and ready to move towards you in all my glories, mercy and love.

God desires more than anything to have an intimate loving relationship with us. So when we move away from Him and disconnect ourselves, He waits. Patiently.

Repentance mean more than confessions and baptisms and feeling sorry for your deeds.

If you just feel sorrow and say sorry for your actions yet you keep going back to the sinful act, you haven't truly repented and you are missing the point.

Have you repented and returned to God? today? And take Him up on His offer?

BIBLE VERSE OF THE DAY:

Today's verse is 2 Chronicles 7 Vs 14.

"Then if my people who are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, I will hear from heaven and will forgive their sins and restore their land." NLT

God had a contingency plan to cover for the lapses in obedience of His people.

We are God's people, and it is never His intention or for His pleasure that we sin and face the consequences of it. And so He planned ahead, and provided a remedy, a plan for our redemption for when we sin.

Will you repent and return to Him today? And take Him up on His offer?

Today, I begin a short 8-day reading and studying on THE CALL TO REPENTANCE.

A call to repentance is a call to return to the things that really matter to God. It is a call to turn from our sins, mindset or anything that keeps us away from God, and turn to God.

Repentance is not a one-time thing, it's not a once and for all thing, since sin can creep back into our lives anytime.

This short Bible verses devotional focuses on the different ways God is calling us back to Himself. If your relationship with God has been rocky, or you are in a persistent struggle with sin, or you do not yet have a relationship with God, this series is for you!

Today's verse is Acts 3:19, and in it, we see that people who have rejected Jesus, those who rejected God's ways, and those who are living in sin, have hope of receiving forgiveness, clean slate, and restoration, if they return to God.

God is more willing to forgive and welcome you home and He is to punish.
