We're starting a multi-week journey through the Gospel according to St. John today. I'm using, among other resources, L. William Countryman's book, The Mystical Way in the Fourth Gospel (Morehourse, 1994). Today's text is a funny little exchange about purification, "he must increase and I must decrease."
The chant tone I'm using come from the Plainsong Psalter, although I modify the language of the Psalms occasionally using the Inclusive Language Psalter and other resources. You can download a .pdf of the Psalter if you want to chant it along with me - that's one of the best ways to learn.
