Today we follow a shortened morning prayer of reading, reflection and collect.
The reading is from Acts 10:17-33; Peter meets with Cornelius, the centurion. The reflection considers the part played by others in our call to be disciples of Christ.

Today the Church commemorates the life of Birinus (d 650), Bishop of Dorchester and Apostle of Wessex.
The reading is from Acts 10:1-16 at recounts the stories of Cornelius call and Peter's vision of the sheet containing kosher and non-kosher foods. The reflection considers Peter's initial response to God, 'By no means, Lord' and our negative responses to God's commands.
