If your stakeholders don’t see value, then the first imperative is to help them see value.

Otherwise the rest is moot.

Near-term thinking = not great, long-term thinking = better, situating near-term action within a long-term context = ideal. 

Problems are problems — whether you see them as a series of dreadful headaches or a trove of growth opportunities is up to you.
