Dear Diary,
Today was the first day of our school's new Drone Club, and I have to say, it was an experience I won't forget. I've always been fascinated by drones, but I never thought I'd actually get to fly one. The club is run by Mr. Chen, a teacher who loves technology. He started by giving us a brief introduction to the basics, then showed us how to perform a simple **maneuver**.
Mr. Chen explained the characteristic features of the drone and how to control it. I noticed a tendency in myself to be too nervous. My hands were shaking, and I could barely hold the controller. The atmosphere in the room was silent and tense. Everyone was focused. On the table, there was a row of drones, each with a unique design.
Then it was my turn. I took a deep breath and tried to stay calm. As I lifted the drone off the ground, it started to slide to the left. I panicked. Mr. Chen whispered, "Relax. Use small movements." I followed his advice and managed to keep it steady. But then a wild gust of wind came, and the drone flew toward a tree. I thought it was going to crash. I felt a huge relief when I pulled the controller back and it avoided the tree.
After that, I felt more confident. The drone's unique design made it easy to see in the sky. I even tried a few tricks, like a quick spin. The other club members grinned at me. We all celebrated our first successful flights.
Later, Mr. Chen told us about an update to the drone's software that would improve stability. He also mentioned that the school store offers a discount for club members on accessories. I'm thinking of buying a repair kit, just in case.
I learned that the biggest enemy of a pilot is fear. You have to define your own limits and push beyond them. There is no bar too high if you practice enough. The virtual simulator we used last week helped a lot, but nothing beats real flight.
This experience taught me the association between patience and success. I can't wait for next week's session. I feel increasingly excited about mastering this skill. It's odd how something so small can bring so much joy. I stretched my arms after flying and felt a sense of achievement.
Overall, today was a great start. I hope to become a skilled drone pilot one day.
