God ordered Joshua to circumcise Israel at a time when it might be done with safety, even in an enemy’s country, due to their hearts being melted with fear. Joshua could have easily been thought of as unwise for this particular command. According to natural reason, it was foolish to undergo circumcision at this time. However, when God gives a command, we must not consult with flesh and blood.
