As Christians, we want to be careful not to fall into Prosperity Gospel, but we also want to be careful not to overcompensate and fall into the Poverty Gospel. Both are unbiblical.
The incredible dangers of the “love of money” are perhaps most clearly expounded by Christ himself, in the Parable of the Sower. Watch here, as Pastor Joel explains the correlation between these two biblical texts.
James 4:14 says, "What is your life? For you are a mist that appears for a little time and then vanishes." The inescapable reality that each of us will one day die should not cause us to panic, but to make the most of this life for the glory of God.
When everyone around us begins to panic, we can trust that Christ will be with us to the very end. Jesus has not left you or forsaken you.
In this episode, Pastor Joel provides biblical insight on how to be content, even in the midst of uncertain times.
Scripture has two clear qualifications for Elders: 1) They must be able to “instruct in sound doctrine.” 2) They must be able to “rebuke those who contradict it.” Faithful pastors cannot merely teach the truth, they must also diligently work to expose error.
According to the Bible, how should the civil authorities deal with theft? Who should be financially penalized, the thief or the party who the thief was attempting to steal from? Sadly, our nation seems to have this backwards.
We cannot truly love God and our fellow man apart from sound doctrine. Our actions flow from our beliefs. What we think about God’s Word governs how we love God and others.
Christians, do not forget that Christ is not only our Savior, he is also our Lord. And this Lordship is not merely confined to the realm of our hearts. Jesus is the Lord of all things!
The problem with the Prosperity Gospel is not that it promises too much, but that it promising far too little. Watch this episode as Pastor Joel teaches on the true promises believers have in Christ!
