Daily Updates on Russian Invasion of Ukraine

For nearly four years, Greg Terry and I have worked together to help Ukrainians affected by Russia’s full-scale invasion. What began with a simple effort to get medical supplies into Ukraine grew into support for humanitarian needs, armored ambulances and vehicles, reconnaissance drones, and Ukrainian defenders.

Now we are launching something new: Ukraine Support Bridge.

The idea is simple. Ukraine Support Bridge does not collect your donations. It provides one trusted place where you can see verified needs, follow the progress, and give directly to the organizations and people responsible for each project. The money does not pass through Greg or me. Each donation link takes you directly to the appropriate destination.

Our first three projects represent three different groups profoundly affected by this war.

The first is Sava, a deaf Ukrainian boy whose mother serves in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. Sava needs cochlear implant surgery that could allow him to hear. The goal is $31,000, with donations going directly through our Ukrainian and American charitable partners.

The second is M, a Ukrainian teenager who fled Ukraine at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. She earned a full-tuition refugee scholarship to attend college in the United States, but that scholarship does not cover room and board. Her remaining need is approximately $12,000 for this year. Because her U.S. immigration paperwork remains in process, we are protecting her identity publicly. I know M and her adopted family personally, and I am personally vouching for this fundraiser.

The third is Project Constantine, which is helping equip Ukrainian frontline brigades with vehicles, communications equipment, power systems, optics, night vision, and other critical equipment. Donations through Ukraine Support Bridge go directly to Project Constantine.

These needs can look enormous when we see the total. But they become much more achievable when thousands of us participate. As Greg points out in this video, even a $219,000 combined need represents 8,760 people giving $25.

You do not have to support every project. Look at the stories. Look at the needs. Decide which one speaks to you.

Russia moved much of its Black Sea Fleet away from Crimea because Novorossiysk was supposed to be the safer refuge. Overnight, Ukraine demonstrated that the refuge itself is vulnerable. Ukrainian forces launched a large combined attack involving jet-powered drones, Neptune missiles, and unmanned naval systems against Novorossiysk, with confirmed hits reported on air-defense positions, piers, and port infrastructure. Russia’s defenses were heavily active, fires broke out around the port, and two major grain terminals suspended operations after sustaining damage. The strategic question is bigger than what burned overnight: if Russia’s fleet is increasingly confined to its bases and Ukraine can now reach the infrastructure surrounding its principal Black Sea stronghold, how safe is the fleet really? I also examine Russia’s overnight strikes across Ukraine, increasingly sophisticated drone countermeasures, the latest battlefield numbers, and what the fighting tells us about the direction of the war.

Volodymyr Zelensky says Ukrainian intelligence has obtained internal Russian documents confirming that the Kremlin is preparing another major mobilization immediately after Russia’s September parliamentary elections. According to Zelensky, Putin plans to mobilize several hundred thousand additional Russians before the end of 2026—and potentially a similar number next year—on top of Russia’s ongoing contract recruitment.

This comes as Russia expands missile and drone production, prepares faster turbojet-powered Geran drones, and receives additional military support from North Korea. Meanwhile, Ukraine and its European allies are struggling to secure enough Patriot interceptors before another winter of Russian missile attacks. Putin appears to be preparing more soldiers, more missiles, and greater pressure—not peace.

Putin’s system has moved against its opponents both inside and outside Russia.

Russia’s Supreme Court removed Yabloko—the country’s only registered anti-war party—from September’s parliamentary election only five days after it was approved and assigned a place on the ballot. Yabloko had suddenly become a rallying point connecting anti-war Russians inside the country with opposition leaders living in exile.

Putin has also signed what Human Rights Watch describes as a “civic death” law targeting Russian critics abroad. The legislation can restrict property rights, freeze assets, block bank access, revoke driving privileges, deny passports and consular services, and make it nearly impossible for targeted Russians to conduct legal business inside their own country.

Together, these developments reveal something larger: Putin is attempting to erase organized opposition wherever it exists—inside Russia, outside Russia, and even from the ballot box.

Ukraine did not merely strike another Wildberries warehouse overnight. It also reached an oil refinery approximately 1,000 miles inside Russia. These attacks appear disconnected, but together they reveal Ukraine’s broader strategy: hit Russia’s logistics, energy infrastructure, military supply chain, and ultimately the banks financing it.

Russia is not preparing to slow down. Ukrainian intelligence says Moscow is producing key missile types at 110–120 percent of its monthly targets and launched a record 198 ballistic and hypersonic missiles in July. Robert “Madyar” Brovdi, commander of Ukraine’s Unmanned Systems Forces, warns that Russia can currently launch approximately 77 ballistic and cruise missiles simultaneously and intends to build toward 200. His proposed answer is systematic strikes against the factories, components and infrastructure producing those weapons. Ukraine’s strikes on Wildberries are doing far more than burning warehouses and disrupting Russian deliveries. The damage may now be spreading into VTB—Russia’s second-largest bank and a major financier of Putin’s wartime economy.

Wildberries gave VTB potential access to approximately 80 million customers. But before that partnership could generate substantial profits, Ukrainian strikes began systematically destroying the concentrated logistics network at the heart of Wildberries’ business model.

Ukraine launched a massive overnight drone attack across Russia and Russian-occupied Ukraine. Moscow claimed its air defenses destroyed 456 Ukrainian drones—even though an open-source strike map estimated approximately 380 were launched. Whatever the real interception rate, Ukrainian drones still reached critical targets deep inside Russia.

Ukraine confirmed that its forces struck the TANECO oil refinery in Nizhnekamsk, Tatarstan. Video showed a substantial fire at the facility. Russian authorities reported 13 people killed and 75 injured across Nizhnekamsk, although the precise locations and causes of those casualties remain unclear.

Additional reported targets included a petrochemical complex deep inside Tyumen Oblast, an S-400 launcher and Orion UAV control antenna in occupied Crimea, Russian rear logistics and a vessel near Novorossiysk.

Russia simultaneously attacked Ukraine with 126 drones, three Banderol loitering munitions and one Kh-59/69 missile. Thirty-one drones reportedly reached 22 locations, damaging gas stations, industrial facilities, homes and other infrastructure. Russian guided bombs also injured 14 people in Sumy.
