Hello and lovely Tuesday to you in the name of Jesus. We are talking about “Team Up.”
Because it is possible to team down. And what do we mean? Every time we get into a team, it has the tendency to take us up or down. And so many have gotten into teams that have taken them down and made life miserable for them. We want to look at how we can get into those teams or become part of those teams that takes us up and not down.
Yesterday, we read about a story in Proverbs 13: 20 (KJV)
“He that walketh with wise men shall be wise: but a companion of fools shall be destroyed.”
The fact is, if you want to end up as a wise person, just team up with wise people.
You want to end up a winner?
Team up with winning people and you will end up a winner.
Let's read Proverb 30: 24 – 28 (MSG)
“There are four small creatures, wisest of the wise they are—
ants—frail as they are, get plenty of food in for the winter;
marmots—vulnerable as they are, manage to arrange for rock-solid homes;
locusts—leaderless insects, yet they strip the field like an army regiment;
lizards—easy enough to catch, but they sneak past vigilant palace guards.”
The Bible is telling us about this little or small creatures, yet he says they are “the wisest of the wise.” They could have looked at themselves and say “oh we are small and disadvantaged ...” but the Bible is telling us here that what they seem to be weak in; in terms of “size”, they made up for in terms of “sense”, (they are wise).
So, it is important you understand that no matter where you are, you have some things working for you.
One of the first things you need to understand when it comes to teaming up and not down is, to “know yourself.” Know yourself, be true to yourself; you are who you are, you are what you are, but you can get better.
These animals are not fighting over not being of elephant size, they are small and fine with it because they are wise.
The Bible says even though they are small, what seems to be a disadvantage to them in size, will make for in sense. So, it is important you understand your limitations and team up with those who are strong where you are limited. Don’t connect or team up with people who have a weakness where you are weak. Look for people who are strong where you are weak and leverage their strength.
All of us have limitations one way or the other. So here am I, doing this podcast, write-ups and all this to get our podcast out. The truth is, the technology behind all this, I have no clue, but God have blessed with wonderful people that behind the scenes, they do all that. I do the recording and they make every other thing happen. We just leverage each other’s strength and by the end of the day everything comes out well because we teamed up.
In my marriage for instance, I am terrible host when it comes to hosting people and all that. I can forget to give you water or something to drink when you visit, I can forget to offer you something to eat but my wife is strong in that, so we team up. My wife the other hand finds it difficult filling forms, give her a form to fill; it might be with her for ten days (ten years) and she might not fill it, but I am strong in that area. That’s the way God has designed life, so we can lean on one another.
Know yourself; know your strength, know your weaknesses and team up in the area of weaknesses, so you can use that to leverage your life.
