The essence of developing deep roots is so that we are not perplexed or moved by happenings around us.

The writer of the book of James helps us see that something happens in us when we go through trials and by faith,

Have you ever found yourself in a position where you are believing God for something on behalf of a friend or a family member?

Our faith is demonstrative.

Did you ever experience being dared by your friends to do outrageous things as child?  

With David we see faith as competent also. Faith is not an excuse for mediocrity but a reason for competent excellence.

The Lord calls ordinary people to do extraordinary things that can only be accomplished through the Spirit. The ordinary aspects of our lives show opportunities for us to partner with God to do great things. Today’s faith icon is Deborah a.k.a mother in Israel

A lot of times, God calls us to have faith not for self preservation but for others. Joshua had to grow in his faith and be courageous because God was calling him to fill the shoes of Moses and lead his people to the promised land.

It is good to ask ourselves: How much faith do we currently have? We need to have growing faith. Growing faith means growing belief that God knows best and that He is working in us for his good pleasure. Peter took steps towards the impossible simply because Jesus said so. 

Will you take steps today because God calls you to come up higher?

Today we surrender to God all our dreams in exchange for his dreams and plans. He is the author of our story and the architect of our destiny. We know and accept that we have been created for so much more than to live for just ourselves. May we have eyes that see beyond the present into all you have lined up for our future.
