I have to admit that until just a few years ago, I was clueless when it came to future-oriented topics such as Industry 4.0 and digitalization. As a pupil at a secondary school, I would never have imagined that these topics would one day be the focus of my studies. I only knew that I wanted to study in a field that would shape the future. That’s why I applied to this program at Daimler. Eventually my phone rang.

My relationship with Mercedes-Benz has lasted longer than some marriages. This year makes it all of 50 years. But unlike in a fixed relationship, I’ve changed my partner now and again — and reached a grand total of 20 cars. And who knows whether my passion for Mercedes-Benz will get me involved with even more models.

In the preparatory talk concerning this article, I was asked to use English expressions sparingly or avoid them altogether. I’m sure you’ll understand that when it comes to startups this is not completely possible.

It’s enough to make you weep. He’s left me, forever. Now I’m alone, and I feel lost in space. He was chocolate-brown, with elegant manners, supremely reliable, a great thinker, visionary, and design lover, just my type…everything I’ve ever wanted. And now he’s gone. But I’m the one who’s to blame. Couple therapy named garage would have kept this marriage from coming to an end.

There are admittedly a lot of exciting jobs at Daimler. But I am particularly fond of mine when it takes me and the entire expert team to the cold of Sweden or, as in this case, to the heat of Spain. Then it’s a bit like a school trip, just without beach and with a lot of work involved.

Parking – not necessarily our favorite topic. It's getting crowded in the big cities, and we seem to spend ages looking for parking spaces. Despite, or perhaps precisely because of this, Daimler decided to hold a "Parking TecDay". Spoiler alert: there are better times ahead!
