He's a serial killer. A murderer of young women, all killed in brutal attacks.
But despite Hamish Wolfe's conviction, he's always stuck to his story - he's innocent, and he's been wrongly imprisoned. And now he wants someone to investigate and, more importantly, to write his story.
Maggie Rose is a notorious defense attorney and writer whose specialty is getting convictions overturned. At first Maggie is reluctant to even acknowledge Hamish's requests to meet, ignoring his letters. But this is a very charismatic and persuasive man, good looking and intelligent.
Eventually even she can't resist his lure.
Critic Reviews:
"Antonia Beamish raises popular British novelist Bolton's psychological thriller to the next level. Beamish's enthusiastic narration grabs the listener from the opening lines and maintains her hold to the end.... Set aside time for this one because once started, it demands to be finished." (

Fascinating
My first Bolton mystery. It is just excellent: tightly plotted, well drawn characters and very hard to not listen to in one sitting. It's perfect for a snowy weekend.
Couldn't stop listening!
Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?
This was amazing. I can't risk giving anything away, but as an avid listener of books in my life there are few that I will remember for the rest of my life. This one I will remember.
Had me give up in all things in my day just so I could finish listening to the story. Edge of my seat all the way!
What did you like best about this story?
I loved the characters. The teasing out of details. The organization of the story and the way they dished out each clue. Wonderful
Which scene was your favorite?
Too many to count. I can't believe I have never listened to this authors books before. That's going to change, I can't wait to find her next book.
Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?
The ending. When things could have gone 4 different ways. I was soooo tense waiting to see what was going to happen next!
Any additional comments?
I'm one of those 300 books a year kinda gal. If I give 5 stars u really need to consider reading eat. That didn't sound as nice as I thought it would. Lol. Just give it a try ! If it ends up great and u liked it, let me know! Share some good ones with me!
Not my favorite Bolton
Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?
No. Would recommend others though. Similar to another reviewer, i was drawn into this story until then last few chapters which I found impposible to believe. The attempt at irony failed miserably.
Would you recommend Daisy in Chains to your friends? Why or why not?
Same question. See above. When writing a mystery there's a trust or a bargain created between reader and author. Rather felt used and had my time wasted. There was a whole backstory completely hidden.
Which character as performed by Antonia Beamish was your favorite?
None. Nothing to do with Antonia Beamish's performance. In the end no one was likable.
If this book were a movie would you go see it?
No.
Any additional comments?
A waste of an opportunity.
A bit hard to believe
It was a great story until about the last six to eight chapters. Then it became excelerated and rather hard to see as credible.
