Kenneth Robeson Doc Savage Noval
Read the Doc Savage novel back in the 70's when my brother collected them. Been reading them ever since. Great story. Thanks.
Always loved this series, now I'm getting it for kids
Who doesn't love Doc Savage, so much more creative than the Hardy Boys! Get these books for your kids while you still can!
This might be my favorite of the Doc Savage series
This might be my favorite of the Doc Savage series, although I never did read Up From Earth's Center, the final Robeson book in the series. The Polar Treasure has some real good back and forth antics between Monk and Ham in the submarine. At one point, Ham happens upon a roughneck crewman named Dynamite Smith who has just been trounced by the Captain. Ham sees the badly beaten crewman crumpled on the floor and "immediately eliminates him as a potential opponent for Monk." Hilarious! I loved the old Bantam paperback series. This one is a particular standout too. Very highly recommended.

"We all went in a pirate submarine
Filled with paddies o' the green
The Man of Bronze he was too keen..'
Or somewhere around there is how the plot goes. Doc runs across a blind violinist being assaulted, and intervenes.
If turns out, of course, that he has a treasure map tattoo.
Everyone is after this treasure, 2 different gangs of dodgy thoigs, and Doc, after he talks to the blind violinist Victor Vail!
Through the miracles of his major skill, the man can see again.
An expedition on the submarine Helldiver is undertaken. The pirate Ben O'Gard is the captain, getting one over on Doc.
This leads to the depicted cover image of a single handed fight with a polar bear, a dogfight, some eskimo taming, the rescue of two women, and other adventures.
At the start, you are thinking 'where the hell is this going', but it all cleverly makes sense enough in the second part of the book.
