In episode 43, I am honored to be joined by Dak Jordan, a former college QB who played at Pacific Lutheran University. What is amazing about this story is that Dak and I played against each other nearly 20+ years ago! It was 1996 and Dak's Lutes prevailed against my Wildcats and beat us 44-41 in a wild shootout that will always be a fond memory for me. Yes, Uncle Rico moment!
Today, we hear a very vulnerable Dak Jordan share the family story of their son, Jackson's genetic disease - Spinal Muscular Atrophy. As a parent, you never want to see your child in pain, and we hear how Dak is working hard to be the QB of his household in every sense of the word. So much of Dak's strength comes from his wife, but also his time spent at PLU with the great Coach Frosty Westering. Coach always taught life lessons and worked on the inner game.
I would encourage everyone to visit www.curesma.org to learn more about how you can support this disease to help families who are faced with this adversity. Thank you again Dak for your vulnerability as I'm hopeful your story will inspire many fathers out there who are facing similar challenges. #EMAL #Attawa
