# The future of watching sports at home ⛹🏾‍♂️👀

I often find myself pondering what our future advancements in technology will enable. Recently, this led me to think deeply about the idea of being able to watch sports games in VR or AR. Specifically, watching NBA games with courtside seats without actually having to be there or pay those insane prices for the tickets.

I think this would increase viewership of games in a big way. Imagine the ticket sales. Not only could they still sell out the arena, but they would also be able to charge people who aren't even there, ideally at a reduced cost of course.

NBA League Pass subscriptions would surely skyrocket if they added the ability to watch the game courtside in VR. I know I'd be all over purchasing something like that.

I don't yet own a VR headset, but I have tried one out a couple of times. There are many people in the same boat as me. VR isn't something that's in every house quite yet. It will be eventually though.

The Apple Vision Pro will be the start of sports gaining popularity in the realms of virtual and augmented reality. Everything Apple does turns into a success. Even if it's not a brand new idea they came up with, they often are the ones that propel a new technology to something the average person can start using.

Apple Vision Pro is going to be insanely expensive, but eventually, they will find ways to reduce cost and create a version of the headset that many people can afford to purchase.

In today's video, I wanted to discuss in detail why I think being able to watch NBA games in VR would be a total gamechanger. To me, something like this is inevitable and I hope it comes sooner rather than later.

I have a massive collection of basketball jerseys that I wear all of the time. They are my main gym clothes, but I also wear them when out doing normal things often too. Whether the weather is warm and I wear them as a tank top, or if it's cold then I wear them with a long sleeve shirt underneath, I will always be a basketball jersey guy.

Currently my collection has 33 different jerseys. I recently selected 12 jerseys to add to my collection. They won't be here until around Christmas time, as I ordered them from China off of Alibaba again. I get these jerseys for about $15-20 a piece, that's with the cost of shipping added in already. Meanwhile, here in the USA the same jerseys sell for over $100 each at stores. It'd be insane to pay those prices if I didn't have to. Plus, the cheaper they are, the more I can add to my collection.

If you are ever wanting to order some jerseys for yourself, then I will be happy to provide the link to the trusted store that I always order from. This makes my third or fourth order from them. They are always fair, quick to respond to messages, ship my items in a timely manner, and even nice enough to hand write notes thanking me for my purchase. In today's video, I will be showing off the 12 jerseys that I selected. Big thanks to my parents for spoiling me with these as a Christmas gift, I really do appreciate it so much.

I will disucuss why I selected each jersey in the video, plus show some photos of the players wearing the jerseys. There are a several hardwood classics, some 2023 city edition, and a few other ones that I fell in love with.

I've yet to receive my order as it was just placed earlier this week, but they will arrive in time for Christmas and I will be officially wearing them to start the year 2024 out in style.

# Narrowing down my favorite NBA players 🏀🏆

I've been watching NBA since I was a child in the 90s. I've always cared far more about NBA than I did NCAA. That is true now more than ever as I feel college play is just not as exciting since there are so many young guys playing pro overseas or in leagues like the G League.

I've grown to love many players throughout the years of watching the NBA. Some for their skill, style, or personality. There are many things that cause me to align with certain players.

In today's video, I wanted to talk about my Top 10 NBA players of all time and explain why I think each guy is so cool. It was hard to make this list, let's just say I could have easily swapped out 8, 9, and 10 for other players. This is the final list I went with though and I hope I didn't forget anybody major that I will later regret not adding to this list. I think the first players to come to mind are the ones that had the most significant impact on me, so the list is pretty solid in my opinion.

# Let's talk clones 🫂

In today's video, I will be discussing my thoughts on the latest Netflix Original film called "They Cloned Tyrone". Let's just say I think it is one of the best movies that Netflix has put out in a very long time.

"They Cloned Tyrone" is a gripping sci-fi thriller that offers a fresh and innovative take on the concept of cloning and its ethical implications. Set in a not-so-distant future, the film follows the story of three friends who stumble upon a secret government experiment involving human cloning. As they delve deeper into the mystery, they uncover shocking truths about identity, power, and the consequences of tampering with nature. # Who's ready to work for free 🥕🛒

I received a big long email from Instacart the other day, as did all shoppers. The title of the email was "Creating new ways to earn", which is ironic considering what was within the email.

In typical corporate fashion, they sprinkled in a bunch of mumbo-jumbo to fool the less intelligent shoppers. Repeating stuff they had said before that we all knew about already, trying to pretend like previous updates were brand new again. I realized right away just how bad of a letter this was for shoppers as a whole. The [Instacart Shoppers Subreddit](https://www.reddit.com/r/InstacartShoppers/) was filled with other shoppers who were equally frustrated.

The most important information in the email was one sentence at the very end. Take a look at it for yourself:


It's the part that says the smallest/quickest batches will have a $4 batch pay. That is reduced from the $7 minimum batch pay that I'm used to, which itself is much less than Instacart used to pay. This means that 50% of the few orders that I have left to accept will now all pay me $3 less. It may not seem like a lot, but it adds up.

At this point, we are fully reliant on customer tips to make this job worthwhile. The $4 batch pay MIGHT cover gas, but it won't help go towards other forms of car maintenance. There will still be many $0 tip orders and people will accept them. You may wonder why, I think it's because they are either totally crazy or completely idiotic. I'm sorry, but I'm not shopping and delivering to somebody for what equals out to be close to no pay at all. Tips will become more important than ever now.

This coincides with the fact that Instacart has continually increased its fees for customers, so fewer people are choosing Instacart for their grocery needs. They've hired way too many people and the increased number of workers and fewer orders is causing people like me to barely be able to earn anything these days.

Do I think Instcart is dying? Sadly, I'd have to say yes. I just do not see how they will be able to sustain through the next few years. All the signs of bleeding profits are right there in front of your face. You'd be crazy to think they weren't forced to lower pay over and over just to stay afloat. It's not looking good for Instcart shoppers. My only hope is that during the fall I finally regain some of my orders and am able to earn a liveable wage.

If it wasn't for Hive, I'd be totally screwed at this point. I remain confident that another crypto bull market will soon be upon us and then it won't matter one bit whether I earn a single dime from Instacart. I look forward to the day of not having to think about money every single day. Until then, the show must go on and we have to adapt to new situations.

# All good things come to an end 🏆🏀🎬

The only NBA game that I’ve ever attended in-person was Allen Iverson and the Sixers @ LeBron James and the Cavs. This was many years ago and of course Iverson is no longer in the league. LeBron is soon to join him and retire in the next 3-4 years. An era is coming to an end slowly but surely.

Pretty much all of my favorite players growing up are no longer playing in the NBA. We have guys like Steph Curry, Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, Chris Paul, James Harden, and a few more who have been playing in the league since I was a young boy who are still going at it. It can’t go on forever though, all of them will eventually retire.

New guys will be the face of the league. We’ve got Giannis and Jokic leading the way right now, but soon it’ll be guys like Ja Morant, Zion Williamson, and Victor Wembanyama. Each year we go out with the old and in with the new.

In today’s video I just felt like reminiscing a bit about some of these older guys who are either out of the league already or soon to retire.

As a kid I never thought I’d be like my father and other adults who talk about how great guys used to be. Now I fully understand. There are some legends that our younger generation will never know how it was to see these old heads in their prime.

Father time inevitably rules all. Thanks to these players for so much entertainment throughout my life and I look forward to seeing how these younger guys shape up in an ever-changing NBA.

# Some positive changes for NBA rules 🏀 ✅

The NBA started back in 1946. Since then the game has evolved a lot, it's nearly unrecognizable now. Most changes have been for the better, but there have been some bad rules implemented as well.

This offseason there were a few new adjustments made to the rules of an NBA game. I am pleased to announce that both of the two new rules seem very positive to me, things that needed to change in an ever-evolving league.

In today's video, I will be discussing these two new changes and why I think this is a great move for the NBA.

### Rule Change #1


This one was absolutely necessary seeing as how bad flopping has gotten in the league. NBA was starting to look like World Cup Soccer in terms of how much flopping there was. Things should change next season now that there is an in-game punishment for that action.

### Rule Change #2


In 2019-20 the NBA introduced the coaches challenge. It has been hugely beneficial and requires a lot of tactics to choose when to actually challenge. There was one major issue with the rule these last few years though. Now you will not be penalized when making a successful challenge. No team will ever have more than two coaches' challenges in one game, but the adjustment to the original rule will be something that all coaches rejoice about.

### Refs don't make the rules, they enforce them

It's starting to look like referees are just going to continue to obtain new powers that allow them to alter the game in big ways. Some might say they are overpowered. It will be hard to say for sure until this next season starts and we begin to see how these two new rules change the way NBA games are played.

# We all need friends 🫂

I know a lot of us have migrated towards living a lot of our lives in the digital world. Social media has enabled us to meet any type of person that you can imagine while online. Sometimes close friendships are formed and that is especially true on a platform like Hive where everyone seems to have a mutual friend due to the smaller size of the community.

I recently have started having more people to hang out with in real life again finally. I must say, it's still way better than an online-only friendship. Both can be really good for us, but nothing beats getting to be face-to-face with someone who you call a friend.

There is HiveFest which is the perfect place to meet your online friends for the first time, but not everyone can afford to travel to such a grand event. This means a lot of us are stuck with communicating digitally.

In today's video, I felt the need to discuss the importance of having friends you can actually see in person and not just having all of your friends online. I'm not saying that online friendships are unhealthy, quite the opposite. I mainly just want to urge you to remember that social media should not be replacing real socialization in your life.
