This week we travel to Scotland and discover a Disney Princess that sought to challenge the ideals of those that came before her. Focused on a mother and daughter relationship, Brave is an original tale that had some creative turmoil but holds a lot of firsts for this franchise and Pixar Studios. Learn the origins of this classic fairytale and how she changed the film industry for good. Travel back to 400AD China where the legend of Mulan was first written down and explore the origins of a warrior woman that has become and role model for women of all ages. Though not actually a princess, Mulan is an important addition to the Disney Princess franchise that we are exploring this season. Join us for a discussion about her journey saving her father, saving China, and finding someone to be proud of when she looks at her reflection.
