Talking about Track #3 of the new album "Wavelength" - have a listen and learn some background information on the creation of this song.
Sharing my experience with my 3rd album release - but this time it's really felt like an actual RELEASE of an album. Super exciting! Sharing some numbers here, as well as my experience with Instagram and Facebook - difficulties with organic/paid reach
BOOOM. SO excited to finally share this with you guys!!! “Wavelength” is now officially released on all platforms!!! I’m beyond excited to share this album with you. I highly recommend downloading it on Bandcamp (https://danbarracuda.bandcamp.com/album/wavelength) where you can read the lyrics as well as learn some more about the concept and story behind it all. You may have it for any price you’d like. I truly appreciate your support of any kind 🙏
It’s been such a journey, and I’ve learned more than I ever have on a record about production, mixing, editing, arranging, and recording. This has been 7 thorough months in the making! “Wavelength” is also particularly special because of the incredible guest musicians I’ve had the pleasure of working with on several songs. Collaboration was a vital element in the creation of this record!
I highly suggest you digest the album with a great pair of speakers/headphones from start to finish with no breaks (39min😉) Sit back and enjoy the ride - and let me know what you think! Thank you endlessly for your support 🙌
For the release of my new album "Wavelength" I'll be hosting 2 listening parties at my home here in Boston. It's an awesome way to start gathering some feedback for the songs you've created - seeing which one's resonated with people, which one's didn't as much. You can ask your listeners literally anything! First one is tonight, second one is this Sunday. Looking forward to updating you guys on how it went!
Take a step back. Aside from the main thing you're trying to accomplish, what other skills have you developed? How can you monetize those skills? I'm learning this right now!
Been struggling a bit with this little clip. What does it need to make it come alive? Is it really just the drums? Let me know your thoughts!
Discussing the importance and benefits that come with collaboration. Go seek them out! Go wide - not just other players of your instrument. Go for singers, drummers, bassist, and unique instruments, even outside your zone like visual artists, film-makers, animators, etc. Listen up!
My new, full-length album "Wavelength" will be released on all music platforms on March 26! It is a concept album composed of 10 tracks - all about the emotional process we experience when we pursue our creative ambitions. The songs are immensely different from each other, and they really explore the complex feelings we face each step of the way. Composed, recorded, mixed, produced here in my home studio. I can't wait to share it with you! There are several guest musicians on the album as well, with unique instruments including the Sarangi, Handpan, Sitar, Tabla, and Bansuri flute. The album artwork was created by Erica Baptiste - reach out to her if you need art for literally anything. Stay tuned guys!
Talking about SPACE here. Where you're improvising, space is just as important. And come back in from that space in different ways. Count the beats that you're silent for, change that up as well. It's a never ending process!
