Bastille featured on one of the biggest tunes of the last decade.
They're track 'Happier' with Marshmello has over a BILLION global streams and the YouTube video views are insane (nearly 700m) while their breakout smash 'Pompeii' has over 500 million.
They are global superstars now.
OVER A BILLION STREAMS
'Happier' opened up a whole new audience while maintaining the loyal following of the Bastille fans who were there from the start.
And now their new track Survivin is here.
Dan began work on it’ months before 2020 turned on its head, intending it to be a frank account of the highs and lows of Bastille’s seven years in existence.
“There’d been times when I felt like I’d been in a washing machine and on a conveyor belt at the same time,” he says, “but when people asked me how I was doing, the answer was always the British cliché: ‘Yep, all good, fine.”
We can relate to the "fine" cliche in Ireland we just say "grand!"
“At the start of lockdown I felt very self-conscious about having written a song that felt relevant when it wasn’t intended to be, but then I also think 2020 is the year we all stopped pretending everything’s fine.”
BLUR'S GRAHAM COXON
Dan tells The Fergal D'Arcy Show about making a track with Graham Coxon of Blur and how surreal it was with one of their musical heroes.
