This week, Matt Larson preached through Daniel chapter 5. In his pride, Belteshazzar took the vessels of the temple and drank wine from them. Doing this, he was declaring that he was in control and not God. A hand appeared and wrote a message on the wall that no one could understand. Once again Daniel was called upon to interpret and he declared that the Lord was judging Belteshazzar because of his pride and he was killed that night. In this passage, we continue to see Daniel’s faithful service to God and God’s sovereignty in dealing with mankind.
