Dan Riley’s commentary is on the following: The NFL combines give people no idea how good incoming rookies really are, eschewing route running or reading an offense for weight lifting and the meaningless broad jump. The combines need to be replaced with a seven-on-seven flag football tourney. At least that would show how we’ll quarterbacks can read defenses and receivers can run routes! Enough is enough already, NFL-ditch the combines!

In an era where scoring is down thanks to defensive shifts, both leagues using a DH is just what the doctor ordered. Adding an extra power hitter to substitute for pitchers will lead to more runs, period. It’s not like pitchers are paid for their at-bats anyway!

Right now, the Ukraine attack should show what’s truly outrageous; Vladimir Putin's war crimes should be more upsetting to us than a name change for a team or an “offensive” stand-up special we can refuse to watch. Dan Riley reflecting on Bob Saget’s tragic death is a blow to stand up, yes, but there’s more to it than that. Bob Saget showed laughing at the unpleasant is a great coping mechanism for a nasty unfair world.
His sitcom? Its main theme was people being brought together by tragedy, something too many are dealing with today.

Baseball’s ownership groups have locked out its players for the latest labor stoppage for America's Pastime. Too many have taken place since the 1970s for the contemporary fan to spend money on tickets or games anymore.

Former NFL coach and commentator John Madden is dead at 85, and his passion for football more than made us tune in: it grew the game.
We’ll remember his impact whenever we play his video game, sure, but we took him for granted, and his passing is a painful reminder to millennials the NFL of the ‘80s and ‘90s is gone forever!

Simply put, The NBAs teams need to start getting serious about focusing more on developing talent in the G-League and returning to the days of “position basketball”, (i.e.) Centers focused on getting rebounds and Point-Guards running the offense.

That’s the only way teams can compete with the consistently competitive teams nowadays. If it worked for baseball’s Oakland Athletics, consistently mediocre NBA squads need to give it a try for their own sake!
