For this challenge:

Create a “musical collage,” however you might define it, likely using the equivalent of cut and paste.

this is what I did:

1- Took and old track provided by my friends at Ethnic Fusion Sound (an Indian Raga with classical instrumentation and voice) kept the Tanpura and Santoor.

2- Took some tracks from and old song of mine, (titled Psyche, unreleased), kept electric bass and drum beats with synthesizers (here hardware old school: Emu Proteus, Emu Vintage Keys and a Korg T3, this was before software vst synths!)

3-Added some orchestral samples from my own collection of CD and vinyl (some usual suspects: Beethoven and Sibelius and a bit of Bach)

Love this one, and love the photo. Mist/fog is such a global (globalizing?) thing. Any city could use it to get on approximately the same mood. Like a landscape's tuxedo.

This photo could be any city , dressed like that, could be my home-town Buenos Aires (a city fog suits so well).

There's a tango standard "Nieblas del Riachuelo", full Buenos Aires misty cityscape, so I went for a homesick tango nostalgia and jammed wit myself this one:

Abstract Counterpoint Improvisation (disquiet0474)

Getting together through music, in times of isolation...

I recorded here (France)upright bass over the duet by Chris Ledwidge (Ireland): piano and Michael Ash Sharbaugh (USA) synthesizers.

I improvised over the original track twice, first take was a disaster, second was slightly better but still I couldn’t figure out what the piano was doing so my notes are bad and my timing is also bad.

I mean, I'm following the sort of pulse but I'm not playing in the right spots, I'm afraid...

So, to save the thing from the trash lid I decided to label my ramblingness as an “abstract impro”, a tag that can excuse or justify many “out of focus” things. I added another thing that I use to bury sloppy things and pretend they are avant-garde brilliant statements: Valhalla Supermassive.

And I did a very creative use of the Delete button
