In 1991 - I was then 16 years old, the same age as my eldest daughter is now - I went to America for a year between 4 and 5 VWO. I was extremely bad at English and thought that otherwise I would never pass my final exam.
Best choice ever! Besides learning the language, I learned so much more. It was the most amazing adventure and the most amazing experience I've ever had.
I was especially lucky that Pat & Frank chose me as an exchange student. Not only did I live near their house, but I was really part of the family. It also felt like I was their own daughter, very special.
After me, they had 11 more girls in the house. We are now 1 big family with 12 sisters from 7 different countries. Last weekend we had fun together.
Pat & Frank are the most inspiring people I've ever met, who I'm still learning from myself: their generosity, their love for everyone, their positivity, their outlook on life.
So, it was time to interview Pat! She shares a lot of value in this episode. We learn from her:
How she managed her family, career and powerful household
How her background contributed to her success
What were her secrets to building a top career in the midst of men
How they dealt with the setbacks and traumas they've been throughI love to connect with you
