  • Hive openmic week 224 cover of Jesus Take The Wheel by Carrie Underwood
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=danrabs/oilealduzz
Hello everyone it's good to be back here again, and I welcome you to my blog. This is Hive openmic week 224. My name is @darabs. I believe you are all doing Good.
Let me send a special shout-out to the curators for chosing the title of this week "summertime".
Summer time is indeed a good time for family and friends to bond and go on vacation, sight seeing merriment, tours, visitation, adventure and picnics. It is of no doubt that one of the things that makes summertime a memorable time is the fact that it goes along with good music (no music no Summer)
It is in line with the above statement that I have chosen to do the cover of the song "Jesus take the wheel by Carrie Underwood.
Carrie Underwood is an American singer who rose to fame after winning the fourth season of "American Idol" in 2005. Underwood is considered one of the most successful country artists of all time, known for her powerful vocals and hit songs that often focus on themes of love, heartbreak, and empowerment ¹. She has been named the top female country artist of the 2000s and 2010s by Billboard.
The song talking us coming to our weakend, where we discovered that we can't on our own succeed or accomplish anything reasonable. So we need to surrender to God to take over and lead us to the right path.
So, it's my desire that we will come to a point where we will have no other option other than to summit to God totally. Haven't said this, I urge you to come and sing along with me.
    *Lyrics*
She was driving last Friday on her way to Cincinnati on a snow-white Christmas Eve
Going home to see her mama and her daddy with the baby in the backseat
50 miles to go, and she was running low on faith and gasoline
It'd been a long, hard year
She had a lot on her mind, and she didn't pay attention
She was going way too fast
Before she knew it, she was spinning on a thin black sheet of glass
She saw both their lives flash before her eyes
She didn't even have time to cry
    She was so scared
She threw her hands up in the air
    Jesus, take the wheel
    Take it from my hands
'Cause I can't do this on my own
    I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
And save me from this road I'm on
    Jesus, take the wheel
It was still getting colder when she made it to the shoulder
And the car came to a stop
She cried when she saw that baby in the backseat, sleeping like a rock
And for the first time in a long time
She bowed her head to pray
She said, "I'm sorry for the way I've been living my life
I know I've got to change, so from now on tonight"
    Jesus, take the wheel
    Take it from my hands
'Cause I can't do this on my own
    I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
And save me from this road I'm on
    Oh, Jesus, take the wheel
    Oh, I'm letting go
So give me one more chance
Save me from this road I'm on
    From this road I'm on
    Jesus, take the wheel
Oh, take it, take it from me
    Oh, whoa, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh
    ella estaba tan asustada
    Oh, espera, ooh-ooh-ooh-ooh

  • Hive open mic week 220 cover of "You are God" by Nathaniel Bassey
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=danrabs/ojbcypunfq
Hello everyone, how are you guys doing today? Welcome to Hive open mic week 220. My name is @danrabs. I'm very happy to be here and i like to kindly bring to your notice that this is my first post here, and I do hope that you will understand and pardon my mistakes and errors here as am very open to all forms of corrections and teachings here. I consider the theme "Time" for this week as a very interesting theme to sing and talk about. There's a popular saying which says " time waists for no one" maybe I should say, I came into Hive open mic at the *right time* hahahaha
Well, I will be doing a cover of a song title, *You are God* by Nathaniel Bassey. He is a Nigerian singer, pastor, trumpeter and gospel song writer, who over the years, has written and sang some of the most prominent, life touching and soul lifting songs.
The song, "you are God" is connected to the theme of this week *time* because the song brings to our knowledge that *times and seasons* are in God's hands, meaning; human workings, striving, planning, achievements, growth, development and attainment in life, is not because we know how to plan, work or set goals or good timing for ourselves, rather, it's God who makes everything possible and in His infinite mercy, He makes things to manifest in our life. You know, as a young boy, when I was growing up, I had dream, aspirations, goals and set target for myself, and as time pass by, some of these thing weren't achieved and I felt very bed, one that I can still remember vividly, is when I was seeking for admission into tertiary institution, and most of my friends got but I didn't, and I felt very bad, but today some of them are even late and some of them, I'm at least a step ahead of them in life and I thank God for that. At God's time, He makes all things beautiful. So this song calls for us to relax and know that times and seasons are in the hands of God and when God says it's your time to get married, buy that dream cars, build your desire house, get your kids, get that new juicy paying job, no one can stop it, and if He says it's your season to shine, nothing can stop you. So, we must make sure we always commit all our plans, dreams, aspirations desires, goals etc into the hands of God and at the appointed time of God, He will bring it to fruition.
    *Lyrics*
Title: *You Are God* ( Nathaniel Bassey)
You are God from beginning to the end

    There's no place for argument
You are God all by yourself
Uh uh uh uh oh yeah
You've got times and seasons in your hands
You called for light out of darkness
You don't need a man to be the God you are
But you have chosen to call me your own
Oh you are God from beginning to the end
    There's no place for argument
Oh you are God all by yourself
You've got times and seasons in your hands oh oh oh oh oh
You called for light out of darkness

No hay lugar para la discusión
    Eres Dios por ti mismo

  • Afritunes week 120. cover of Anjade lo Leni Eledumare by Chief Ebenezer Obey
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=danrabs/mktrqphqpv
Hello everyone, how are you guys doing today? truth you are all keeping well. Welcome to Afritunes community week 120. My name is @Danrabs and it gives me great pleasure to be always here, amongst this wonderful family. Yoruba song is a big "thing" for me, so you may be hearing a number of it coming from me.
Well, today, I will be doing a short cover of a Yoruba song, titled " Anjade lo Leni Eledumare" by Chief Ebenezer Obey. He Is a Nigerian juju musician, singer, and bandleader. He is one of the most popular and influential musicians in Nigeria. The song was done in 1982 that was a long time before I was born, hahahaha, but it's meaning and impact is still very much meaningful, significant and even more relevant in our days.
It's of no doubt today, that you never can tell if you will come back home in one peace when you step out of the house in the morning in pursuit of daily bread or for a green pastures.
The song is a very powerful pray which everyone should endeavor to say everyday before stepping out of the house inrespective of your religion. The song is a cry to God for safety as we all go out to hustle and try to make ends meet, the praying song says " as we go out to look for what to eat, may we not meet with what will eat (consume/kill) us.
You know in the old days, before the arrival of Westernization in Africa, the Yoruba people are known to be great hunters amongst other things. So, the song was sang in line with the sense of a man (father) going out to hunt for Games and you know sometimes, when hunters goes out to hunt, they are exposed to so many dangers in the forest, and could be attacked by wide and dangerous animal and sometimes even get lost in the forest. today, we may not be hunting in the forest but believe you me, we are all hunting in our places of work and businesses, and as such, we are exposed to all forms of insecurities, banditry, kidnaping etc, so it becomes imperative for one to count on God for daily safety. It's my prayer that God Almighty will continue to secure us in all and in everything and in everywhere we go Amen.
    Anjade lo leni eledumare
We are going out today our maker
    Anjade lo loni eledumare
We are going out today, our maker
    Jijade wa kama pade agbako
As we go out, may we not meet any bad luck/Evil
    jijade wa kama pade agbako
As we go out, may we not meet any bad luck/Evil
Oun ta o je la nwa lo baba
Father, It's what we will eat that we are looking for
Ka ma pade oun ti o je wa
May we not meet with what will eat us
Oun ta o je la nwa lo baba
Father, it's what we will eat that we are looking for
Ka ma pade oun ti o je wa
May we not meet with what will eat us

  • Afritunes week 119, A cover of Ijoba Orun
    https://3speak.tv/watch?v=danrabs/aekfkmpkbe
Hello everyone, welcome to Afritunes community week 119. My name is Danrabs and I'm very glad to be here. I like to kindly bring to your notice that this is my first post here and I do hope you will understand and pardon my mistakes and error here. But I'm very open to corrections and learn. I consider it a great pleasure to be here with you this week. I hope the week is being very blessfull for us all.
I will be doing a cover of a song title: Ijoba Orùn by Lara George. Ijoba Orùn is a Yoruba phrase which could be translated thus; "Heavenly Throne"
Lara George, is a Nigerian gospel singer and songwriter. The song is one of the most popular Yoruba gospel songs in Nigeria and Africa at large and it's known for its powerful and uplifting of souls spiritually and "lyrically". "Ijoba Orun" is one of her most beloved and hit songs.
I have carefully considered and chosen this song because of it great spiritual significant to me as a Christian. You know, sometimes, it very possible for one to deray from his/her track as regards to the heavenly race, sometimes, we allow the things of the world to becloud our minds not even knowing or realizing that these things we fight, shortchanged, oppress and even go as far as killing people just to acquire can't even take us anywhere.
This beautiful song also rings a bell to our minds that the whole world is full of vanity. One part of the song that stroke me the most as we will see in the lyrics is that part of the song which says " the money, cars, friends and even the education that we have acquired thus far, cannot even take me home (heaven)". Each time I sing or listen to this song, it calls for a sober reflection and personal introspect. Now am sure this is already giving you reasons to to appreciate and love the song the more. enjoy...
    Lara George: Ijoba Orun
Ijoba orun, lere onigbagbo o (2ce)
    (Heaven is the believers reward)
Ma jen kuna baba, mu mi dele o
(Father, don't let me miss it, Take me home)
Ma jen kuna, baba se mu mi dele o
(Father, don't let me miss it, Take me home)
Ki n ma ku sajo, bii eefin
(That I would not die like smoke in its path)
    Mu mi dele
    (help me to reach home)
    Owo ti mo ni
    (The money I have)
Ko le mu mi dele o
    (Cant take me there)
    Moto ti mo ri ra
    (The cars Ive bought)
Ko le wa mi dele o
    (Cant take me there)
    Ore ti mo ni
    (The friends I have)
Ko le sin mi dele o
    (Cant accompany me there)
Gbogbo iwe, ti mo ri ka
    (All the knowledge Ive gained)
    Won gbe mi rele o
    (Cant take me there)
    Ma je n kuna baba
(Father, Dont let me miss it)
    Mu mi dele o
    (Take me home)
Ki n ma ku sajo, bii eefin
