Paul journeys ahead solo to Athens, but he isn't alone for long. He meets Aquila and Priscilla, fellow believers and tentmakers. Paul uses his skills as a tentmaker, working with them during the week, and on the Sabbath he goes to the synagogue to try to convince the Jews to believe in Jesus as the Messiah.
Silas and Timothy soon join Paul in Athens, and we see that Priscilla and Aquila also become a part of Paul's ministry team in spreading the Gospel. Besides teamwork, another theme in Acts 18 is the important role encouragement plays for everyone, including the great Apostle Paul.

Faith meets cultural logic and philosophy in Acts 17 as Paul ministers in three different cities with three different responses. We can compare these responses to our modern day world. Some resist the Word, some receive the Word, and some ridicule it. However that doesn't stop Paul from staying on mission and sharing the good news of the Gospel.
Paul also seems to have developed a strategy for expanding the spread of the Gospel. He chooses to minister in the larger cities in a region and makes them the center hub for evangelizing the entire region.

Welcome to week 18 as we dive into Acts 16. As Paul is on his 2nd missionary journey the Gospel is first brought to Europe through Macedonia. While there are many doors open to Paul and his team, he also experiences many closed doors.
Paul's ministry team is expanding. Not only are Silas and Timothy with him, but Luke, the writer of the book of Acts is with him as well. During this time they and we as well learn just how powerful a weapon both prayer and praise are.

Offense is a church growth killer as Paul and Barnabus discover. Acts 15 finds them heading to Jerusalem. The council in Jerusalem will decide the issues that have arisen over the Gentile conversions.
Will they have to follow the Law of Moses to be saved or does salvation come through Christ alone?

Acts 14 brings us along on the final leg of Paul and Barnabus' missionary journey. The Spirit of God continues to pour out leading to salvation and continued persecution. The persecution is intense and idolatry is running rampant, but even then there are miracles, healings and numbers of salvation are added to the church.
As we dive into this chapter, we also learn the importance of staying on mission amidst opposition.

Acts 13 is a turning point in Global expansion of the church. The focus now turns to Saul/Paul's ministry journeys. Barnabus and Saul are both commissioned on their first missionary journey taking John Mark. Paul is preaching to both the Jews and Gentiles.
God's opening the door for the Gospel message to spread and global expansion begins.

Welcome to week 14 of our Series in the book of Acts. Acts 12 opens with a difficult time for the believers in Jerusalem and the church as a whole. Herod seems to be in control and the church appears to be losing. BUT Prayer and God.
In Acts 12 we see a stark contrast between human pride, the arrogance of Herod, and God's power at work through prayer. We experience the death of the first Apostle, James, the rescue of Peter, and finally the death of Herod.

UPDATE: I just want to let everyone know that my website and email have been offline for a week. I am unable to send or have not received any emails from my website and its email. I pray they get the issue figured out soon, but until then you can find the podcast episodes on YouTube or your favorite podcast platforms.
As we dive into Acts 11 we see that God is telling the church its time for change. Out with the old. The old ways, old barriers, old traditions need to go and in with the new. What is the new? It's the beginning of a multi-ethnic church and a new understanding that God's grace is for ALL!
Acts 11 is also the first mention of those who follow Christ and the new emerging church being called Christians.

Today we pick up where we left off and finish Acts Chapter 9 and discuss chapter 10 where we see a HUGE Paradigm shift for Peter and the rest of the believers. God is breaking down barriers and changing mindsets as He reveals His Kingdom's thinking. He reveals salvation is for everyone, not just the Jews. We learn today that NO ONE is beyond God's grace.
Also, there is a challenge for us all: Are we willing to continue with the Great Commission. An important task Jesus charged believers with, or do we have biases that hinder or prohibit us from expanding the Kingdom of God?
