Palestine is the country of good food, breath-taking nature, and kind people. Despite all the challenges that the Palestinians have gone through, they are still putting effort every day to educate themselves and improve the quality of their lives. Palestine, the holy land, is where the three main religions (Islam, Christian, and Judaism) have originated. She is a professor at Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM where she teaches a variety of public relations, interpersonal communication, writing, and public speaking courses. She is also a licensed therapist in both New Mexico and Texas and has a small therapy and coaching practice. Birkey has been married to her husband for almost 37 years, has two amazing grown children and in-law children, along their newest delight--a baby granddaughter.
