On this podcast, I broke a rule. Nattolie Chilton is remarkably close to publishing her first book but has not published it yet. I really wanted to give you and idea of her story and what she has committed herself to. This is really a story on how someone who hit rock bottom found a way to be happy, experience self-love, and beat the odds. This show is a journey through some of the darkest times in Natalie’s life and how love turned things around for her. The upward motion started with a course from Tony Robbins which starts a chain reaction in her life. She has the courage of a lion to share her story. Pay her the respect she deserves by following her and buying her book when it comes out.

I asked Matt to come on the show because he had just released Notes from the Bonfire. This is a collection of poems he wrote while suffering from COVID-19. We talked about his experiences with the virus, the books he has written, and comedy.
Matt Nagin is a writer, educator, actor, filmmaker, and standup comedian. In December 2019, Matt's humor book, "Do Not Feed The Clown" was published by Tenth Street Press, and, since then, has obtained excellent reviews. In 2018, Matt's poem, "If We Are Doomed," won The Spirit First Editor's Choice Award, and the following year, another poem, "Birds Singing In My Chest," was published in the anthology "New York's Best Emerging Poets 2019." He has two books of poetry available on Amazon, "Butterflies Lost Within The Crooked Moonlight," and "Feast of Sapphires," both of which have obtained very strong reviews. Kirkus Reviews, for example, referred to Matt's first book as "powerful verse from a writer of real talent."

Courtney published her first book Sentient. I loved the excitement she had giving me the overview of the book. The pure energy she had during the interview as she described her creative side made it hard not to feel good about everything. Watch, I think her energy will rub off on you too.
Courtney Hunter is a serial creator from Philadelphia, PA with experience in writing, the fashion industry, and live performance. After eighteen years of studying contemporary dance, she set out to carve herself a path in fashion and retail buying. Upon graduating from Philadelphia University and settling into her career, she turned back to dance. While working as a retail buyer for Burlington Stores, Courtney began producing contemporary dance and burlesque performances under her production company Stolen Fire Collective, aptly named after Prometheus, the fire-stealing god. Sentience, her debut Science Fiction novel, is a written extension of a contemporary dance piece that was produced for the Philadelphia Fringe Festival in 2017 based on artificial intelligence.
A lifelong Sci-Fi fan (her favorite movie as a little girl was and still is Jurassic Park), Courtney loves anything Promethean in nature, and her favorite books, movies, and television shows are the ones that challenge the ethics of the future that we are rapidly heading towards. Some of her favorites include Jurassic Park (obviously), The 100, The OA, Westworld, The East, and Ex Machina.
She still resides in Philadelphia with her partner, Will, and her rescue pups, Rickie and Billie. In her free time, she records a podcast called The Sentience Podcast, which started as a behind the scenes look at the making of her novel and has evolved into an auditory hub for all things science fiction, creative process, true crime, and the occult.

When we first started talking David said “By the end of this thing we may just be kin.” I have to say, we came damn close to it. He is one of those guys you can sit down and talk to for days and still want more. David is definitely a storyteller and one of the most fascinating people I have met. I really look forward to talking to him again, I hope you enjoy our conversation.
William David Ellis is a storyteller. Whether it's weaving an old narrative into an entertaining and illuminating yarn or fashioning something brand new from wisps of legend, he can tell a story. He is the son of an English teacher, the husband of an English teacher, and the father of an English teacher, in spite of them, he occasionally punctuates. He lives in East Texas and has breakfast with some of the people who inspired his books twice a week.

When you talk to Aaron Hodges you feel his genuine personality. Author of 8 books, including a travel guide which he released in December of 2019 (ironic and kind of funny given the timing), I was impressed on how I could feel the worlds he creates while he tells you about his books and his life in general. Aaron is a laid back, intelligent, and talented author from New Zealand, I hope you enjoy this conversation as much as I did.
Aaron Hodges was born in 1989 in the small town of Whakatane, New Zealand. He studied for five years at the University of Auckland, completing a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology and Geography, and a Masters of Environmental Engineering. After working as an environmental consultant for two years, he grew tired of office work and decided to quit his job and explore the world. During his travels he picked up an old draft of a novel he once wrote in High School (titled The Sword of Light) and began to rewrite the story. Six months later he published his first novel, Stormwielder, and hasn't looked back since.

Nikki drops knowledge bombs all over the place in this show. We get to hear about Big Bird, Toad, and a drug dealer named The Doctor. You will find she has a way with words and very subtly lays out life in Nashville. She states, “I write to divert and entertain. And, maybe, on occasion, make you wet your pants.” If she doesn’t make you laugh, you are dead inside.
Nikki Nelson-Hicks has been described by a fellow writer as "the unholy lovechild of Flannery O'Connor and H.P. Lovecraft".

Kayelle and I had a good time talking about world building, writing, and the indie book biz. Listening to her drop tip after tip and inviting people to access her groups to help other indie authors grow is why I love authors so much. So much help and the cost…zero. She is giving back to the community while she creates her amazing worlds for you to enjoy.

Readers do not buy books. They buy experiences. When you read a Kayelle Allen Sci Fi you have a great experience interacting with misbehaving robots, mythic heroes, role playing immortal gamers, and warriors who purr.
