Series hits its stride in book 2. Less need for introductions as we already know the characters. More plot driven and less 'I did it to be a girl detective'. The character arcs are quite engrossing and the plot keeps you reading on.
Mystery with a dash of romance
A sassy southerner (and former debutante), Tai Randolph breezes in to town after her uncle leaves his gun shop to her in his will. She goes to her brother's home hoping to mend fences with him after being out of each others' lives for years. What she finds is a dead body. In short order she meets Trey, a man who looks like a male model, acts like James Bond, and a secret that only those closest to him seems to know about. The book was an easy read with lots of snappy dialogue between Tai and Trey.
The Tai Randolph series only gets Better!
This is the second installment in the remarkable and charming Tai Randolph series set in Atlanta.
Tai and her security expert boyfriend Trey agree to help out a friend at a high-stakes poetry slam competition in a downtown Atlanta club. In the midst of her friend's performance a fire breaks out in the bathroom, and in the confusion that follows Tai discovers the body of a murdered performer. Soon Tai is engaged in unraveling the mystery while at the same time struggling to understand her deepening relationship with the enigmatic Trey.
