Darkfloor In Session

Darkfloor Sound's own Phat Chex doing his thing back in January at SUPER HOPE in Plymouth, UK.

London’s formidable Voidloss unleashed a torrent of techno at Birmingham’s Resonance night back in September where he was joined by Singularity Recordings label mates Makaton and CWS.

Spookhouse recorded us an hour of upfront electro breaks and bass for our 34th In Session; no stranger to Darkfloor, he guested on Mantis Radio back in 2011.

J Somatix, one half of prolific noisy electronics duo Somatic Responses, recorded us an extended deep ambient trip for headphones and quiet, reflective moments.

From the Darkfloor archive vault comes this stunning deep IDM and electronica liveset from Dresden producer Kern.

One half of techno/electronica duo Ghosting Season (with Thomas Ragsdale) and the man responsible for the This Is Forever label, Gavin Miller, has recorded a special label showcase for In Session. And special it is. Taking in work from Dalot, Lucy Claire, Umber, Jermainesoul as remixed by Message To Bears as well as tracks from Ghosting Season and his own solo work. It might be short but it is wonderfully formed.

Croatia's Fromm (Roman Cernjak) might be a professional film and TV editor by day - yet by night he is a well skilled selector and DJ. Recorded October 16th for Darkfloor, his mix - Somersault - illustrates his keen ear and enviable record collection most admirably.

Mike Stern is one of our favourite selectors of the darker electronica out there – his mixes fit the idea of Darkfloor perfectly. Here’s the first of hopefully many mixes from the Parisian – taking in crisp IDM, driving electro, brutal pitch black techno, dungeon branded dubstep and many of the intersections joining the music styles.

This mix was originally recorded for a podcast series that never happened and so was never published - until now. Welcome to Grind by DVNT.

From the Darkfloor archive vault comes this set from Galaxian. Recorded September 26th, 2009.
