‘Sorry, unfortunately I didn’t feel a spark’. That sentence can end the prospect of a next date in a matter of seconds. The use of the word ‘spark’ is really ambiguous and could mean many things and it often leaves the person thinking ‘what did they mean by a spark?’ Did it mean that I was unattractive? Does the person not like my personality? Is the person using ‘spark’ as an excuse to soften what they really think?
