Hello Fellow House Heads and New House Lovers, it's been a long many months since we last posted a mix but we've been still buying house tracks regularly.

Jim and I have bought 4 batches of 20-35 tracks from Beatport & Traxsource in last 3 months. Yes, still crack addicts, but to house music!

Downloaded this picture from facebook (not sure if pic from a Steve Lawler party in Toronto or not?), so if you own it (& we can verify that), and want this off our site, then let us know and we'll remove it.

But what I love about this pic is that this is why we started loving house music at 16yrs old!! Look closely and feel what these party goers are feeling. Big fat smiles, hands in the air and boots stomping on that dancefloor! What a great pic- HOUSE IS A FEELING!

These 40 or so tracks are my fav from these last 4batches. There are 3 or so Classic House tracks that we bought that are going to make any of you 35-45yrs old FLIP OUT!! We've been buying reissue classics that we own on scratchy vinyl records but are now digitized. Sometimes we lose and they just slap onto the mp3 stores and sounds like a vinyl recording but most of the time it sounds CRISP and PUNCHY! ReMastered. I don't miss the vinyl days. Only DJing on vinyl for that tactile precision ; )

For those of you who are in the know, you are going to lose your minds when you listen to this mix!! CRANK IT LOUD!! (You Deserve It!)

For those of you who are new to house music... and I don't mean that EDM top 40 dance garbage. I mean HOUSE MUSIC. Soulful, funky, jackin', vocally, jazz infused, techy, bouncin', classic, timeless, foot stompin' goodness.

If you are new and you don't freak out. There is zero hope. Yes, hope left the window and is out of your zip code baby!

Have a blast either way! This mix was made with months of life stresses & incredible love of these tracks pushed into this mix. Creating something good out of mixed torrent of emotions! Feel it.

How we put mixes together, it's all about the legwork... to find the tracks that MOVE us. We listen to about 2000+ tracks to buy 30 or so. Those are usually the averages. Then we put into mixes about 70% or so of what we actually buy. Super picky when it comes to our house music.

And for all you house producers who are peeved that we didn't list your tracks. HEY WAKE UP! WE ARE YOUR REAL SUPPORTERS over these 27+ years- JIM AND I BOUGHT ALL YOUR STUFF!!!!!!!!!!!! Especially the ton of vinyl records!! That stuff was heavy and super expensive VS today's digital tracks.

Here's a LIVE Guest mix I did at Hubert K's amazing CTRL ROOM. We decided to go Old School with an ALL VINYL RECORD SESSION!

Nothing beats spinning on vinyl, it was an absolute blast!! Pulling out each record was a flood of memories!

House is so magical. Can't be still listening to it. I can't have it as background music. I can't work and listen to house at the same time. Can't have someone in the car and listen to house at the same time. It always transports me back in time. Feel young, energized and happy!

Hello Fellow House Music Fanatics and Newcomers, welcome!!

It's been the longest dry spell we've every had this past year for putting up our house mixes. Our apologies, however, we have not slowed down in buying more house tracks. We're junkies!!

We've bought over 200 tracks in 5 separate batches from Traxsource and Beatport since the last mix was posted on our site. Been working on two mixes, which we believe you're going to LOVE.

This mix, "Ritual Healing" has gone through probably at least eight versions >> each one had some parts that were really amazing and other parts that just sucked! It has been very frustrating, but accepted as part of our ritual of growing in love with new house tracks and only having a few hours a week these days.

Most weekends, we listen to about 500+ tracks on Traxsource & Beatport in the late AMs. Jim, my best friend, DJ partner and fellow house fiend takes on tracks on Beatport and I take on Traxsource.

So after about 2,000-2,500 tracks, I usually have about 90-130 tracks total in my virtual crate. Then over a few weekends, I'll dwindle that down to 30-40, then try to find a 15-20% discount code or sit on the crate till Traxsource emails a discount.

Then buy, then listen to the tracks in traffic to and from my day job in Digital Marketing at a downtown Toronto agency.

Then make a mix on a Sat. morning, shaking the whole house for hours (it's fantastic!!), and then listen to it for a few days. If it sucks, then it gets deleted and back to the drawing board we go the next Sat.

It's such a healing ritual because I usually take all my life and work stress and pour it into each mix. In the process, hopefully putting mostly negative energy with some positive and transforming it into something beautiful. Sharing my favourite house tracks in the way that I want them to sound if I was dancing my ass off at a crystal clear and loud club sound system!!

WOW! It's been ages since the last mix. We hope you like this one. It's the second mix to our "Serious Bizness, MixOne".

Our apologies, there is a slight train wreck near the end after "Play with the Voice", but other than that it is a pretty smooth run with lots of sweet house vocals and deep and funky house beats.

Thank you for giving us a listen! We appreciate it. We have loved house since we were 16yr old boys and all this new amazing music helps re-energize us every time.

This is actually our 100th mix on this podcast site!! It's been almost 7yrs since we've had this site, however, the mixes on this site represent our 20+ yrs history of DJing and loving house music with some of the earlier work transferred from cassette tapes and CDs.

All tracks in this mix are from Traxsource.com and Beatport.com with the exception of "Reach for the Stars", which our friends and Toronto DJ legends, Dino & Terry gave us recently, and for "Everything She Wants", a re-mastered WHAM! classic by the incredible George Michael and from the Google Play Store.

I will miss him deeply, as I have listened to his music since I was 12, so over 30yrs. I've been sad for this passing and have been watching everything George Michael on YouTube. 2016 was a tough year for the celebrities my best pal, Jim and I grew up with in the 80's.

If you are new here, then "WELCOME"!! We have almost a hundred house mixes for you to explore if you like what you hear.

We (Jim and Dat are best friends and have been the DJ duo of 'dattrax' for two decades in Toronto, Canada) have loved house music since our teens and just want to share through our brand of house music with those WHO KNOW. "House is a feeling."

Been wanting to make this mix for over five months and now realize that it will be in two parts, otherwise, it would be a three hour plus mix. The second part might take a backseat to a few mixes first since we have so much new music to share with you!! Well it's that time again Boys & Girls! Work has been nuts and family has been great. Hope you are all squeezing every moment of every day of it's goodness! There is so much to be thankful for.

The family is out and I got laundry going and going, so had time to shake the house with loud house music. This is probably my 4th attempt in weeks at making this mix with these 34 tracks. Been listening to about 50 tracks for the last month and every attempt had highs and lows but wasn't good enough to be posted. Want to post a mix that you would enjoy more than once.

WOW!! It's been a year since the last house mix was posted!!! (I've probably made over 30 mixes since then but they all sucked or had unforgivable mistakes. All our mixes have imperfections and slight mistakes but it's the trainwrecks or the wrong selection that just drops the mood you were trying to create that you don't want to share ;).

It's been a challenging last few years personally. Life happens. Not all positive but you roll with the punches. You try to see some good in your circumstances and realise that at the end of the day, you can only control you and NOT ANYTHING OR ANYONE ELSE, not what they do, say, feel or think. Then you pick yourself up and move on the best that you can.

Thank you for stopping by and listening to our DJ house music mixes! We're up to 105 mixes now!! It's probably less than 10% of all the mixes we've made but it's the ones that we love and enjoy to listening over and over.

A house mix should be special. Not to be listened to once and then deleted or discarded. A good house mix is one that you want to listen over and over again to put you in that happy mental and puts that big fat smile on your face.

This is how mixed tapes were treated back when Jim and I first fell in love with house. There were very few mixed cassette tapes from our favourite Toronto DJs, so when you got a hold of a good one. WOW!! It got dubbed and shared with your dozen closest friends. It got played over and over again on your portable cassette player.

Jim and I are best friends and have both loved house since we were 15-16 and now we're both 40+!!

We're still addicted to buying house music every single month!

Been working on this mix for about a month in the cracks of time between work, seeing my beautiful children on most weekends, networking and hanging out with good friends. Been thinking about an 80s pop and house mix for years. Thinking and not doing. LMAO.

I was so sad when the greats George Michael, Michael Jackson and Prince passed away the last few years. This mix will probably get banned because it has huge pop hits, but here we go.
