The Freestyle Club Episode 15: BOOM! With DJ Tim "Spinnin" Schommer

Release Date: 12/05/2018

Welcome to The The Freestyle Club – BOOM! – Episode 15, with DJ Tim "Spinnin" Schommer. Listen in as DJ Tim "Spinnin' Schommer takes a break from the 1's and 2's to sit in The Third Chair to Talk Freestyle with The Freestyle Club. Tim talks about how the sausage is made with his famous Freestyle Mixes. Get an extremely rare insight into Tim's thought process when making a mix. Take note on all the elements that are involved in a DJ Tim "Spinnin" Schommer Mix.

The Club talks about the origins of DJ Tim "Spinnin" Schommer in Chicago and his current Facebook Live Show. Tim shares how he had to find a niche on a station that had such greats as Bad Boy Bill, Julian "Jumpin'" Perez, Ralphi "The Razz" Rosario and Farley "Jackmaster" Funk.

Take note of the conversation between "CPR" Jose Oritz and Tim "Spinnin" Schommer as they discuss the intricacies of breaking a song. What their considerations are when accepting or denying a track to be potentially highlighted in their perspective shows.

Tim takes us back in time and tells us about how Freestyle group L.A.W. came about and his role in getting them established, yet another group that was bypassed by Mic Mac Records! He also talks about other Chicago area Charlie B and A'lisa B. We conclude the session with a brief discussion about his mix "Heartbreak" series.
