The season 1 Finale of Dave was jaw dropping & left us begging for a season 2. This episode opens with the visuals of Dave rapping about getting arrested & going to jail for exposing himself in at a live concert.

The song explains the very explicit journey of Dave’s time in prison-being stripped down, balling on the court & doing what he has to do to not get raped.

He plays the song for his label & they are not impressed-saying the song is way too explicit for mass consumption. Dave disagrees and storms out of the meeting & argues with his manager Mike for not taking up for him.

The episode ends with Dave at the famous “Breakfast Club” Radio station where he plans on going against his label & dropping the song live on the show. During his interview with Charlemagne The God & Angela Yee, Dave explains his thoughts on music, friends & cultural appropriation. Instead of dropping the explicit track like he initially planned, Dave decides to freestyle to prove his worth.

Dave and Ally spend quality time with Ally’s family for her sister’s wedding. Leading up to the big day Ally is butting heads with her family, and not having Dave’s full support. Dave is having a hard time balancing work life and his relationship with Ally, which leads to a blow up they may not be able to come back from. Not to mention, that he is town between taking a contract from a record label or not.

In tonight’s episode Dave meets with numerous record labels to find his perfect match. He shares with the executives his goals & expectations in pure Dave fashion explaining that he is a mix of Kanye, Eminem & Zane.

One label believes in Dave and puts him in touch with mega producer Benny Blanco. Benny tells Dave that his raps & his beats suck but introduces him to Justin Bieber & even gets an invite to Justin’s house party later that night.

Dave brags to his friends that he gets to hang out with Bieber but they aren’t invited. He arrives at the party decked out in a gold sequin blazer with the likes of Kourtney Kardashian & Marshmellow but no Bieber. Nonetheless, Elz & Ally show up at the party, wasted, and Dave apologizes for not inviting them initially.

Elz and Ema wake up in bed together after a wild night of partying, and they both don’t know how to act with one another now that they have slept together. From the looks of it Elz wants a relationship with Emma, however, she is giving him mixed signals which frustrates Elz. They ultimately agree to keep seeing each other under the condition that they don’t tell their friends yet. In this episode you also see Trippin Red vibe out to one of Elz’s beats, hopefully meaning that he is one step closer to realizing his dream of being a producer.

Dave heads home to Philly for his first concert. He, Gata, Elz & Mike share an interesting dinner with Dave’s parents at his childhood home.

While being home we get flashbacks of some aspects of Dave’s childhood.

During his time as a pre-teen Dave was the camp clown. The go-to for embarrassing entertainment unbeknownst to him. He just thought he was in on the joke-but with some real talk from real friend Elz-Dave eventually realized he was the joke back in the day at camp & currently with his childhood friends who came out to his show to show “support”.

Dave  encounters his younger self & suffocates him.

With the young Dave off his back he was able to go out & crush his first professional on stage rap performance.
