The Utah System of Higher Education launches ‘Admit Utah,’ the state’s first simplified and guaranteed admissions initiative designed with access for all students in mind. AdmitUtah.org will serve as a central platform for students, families and educators to navigate the college admissions process seamlessly. Cydni Tetro, Utah Board of Higher Education Member, who worked on the Admit Utah task force, joins D2 to talk about the new program.

Biden's plan has been on hold since September after seven Republican-led states challenged it in federal court in Georgia. But on Wednesday, a federal judge decided not to extend the pause and instead dismissed Georgia from the lawsuit, finding that it lacked the legal right, or standing, to sue. Residents in West Valley City have long reported long waits at train crossings, saying they don't know if the wait will be five, or 45 minutes long. New technology said to be up and running by October 7th should provide notice to residents on the north and south of a train crossing how long the wait could be, allowing residents to decide if a reroute if necessary. Dave and Debby share their experiences with long wait times and hopes for the new tech.

It only took three days for the threat of economic disaster to influence port operators to come to a resolution with striking workers. The union representing striking dockworkers along the U.S. East and Gulf Coasts have reached a tentative deal agreeing to an immediate $4/hour raise followed by an additional $4/hour raise every year for the next six years. Dave and Debbie discuss what happens next for dock workers, and examine the quick move towards panic buying by Americans across the country.
